We are not with OCYS (or FKK). Does anyone know when OCYS plans to post specific tryout dates? Thanks for any helpful information.

OC has to wait until the last possible moment to announce tryouts because they know as soon as they do announce FKK will announce another college ID event for the same nights.

I don't think it is a big mystery. I am sure they will do what they did last year before and after Memorial Day.

It's a cat and mouse game at this point. FKK has announced May 27-30 (week after Memorial Day), but said it will not post specific time slots (age and gender) until a week before. FCA has posted specific days and times: May 19-22 for FPL and May 27-30 for FYSA teams.

My guess is OCYS will, on the girls side, hold ECNL tryouts during week of May 19-23 just before Memorial Day and will do non-ECNL tryouts May 27-30. Just my speculation -- I don't have any inside knowledge.

I see there are only about 30 teams for the Junior Pro Tournament this weekend, and 12 of those are OCYS teams. The Memorial tournament that used to be a fairly good size one only has 49 applied so far. I wonder if the club will keep doing these in the future since turnout isn't looking to good.

They've never held a successful tournament.

                Stadium deal is shameful

Looks like the stadium deal could get tied up in the courts for some time...

Trying to take a building and a church in an economically depressed area for far less than replacement value is shameful. The church is not worth the $35 million asking price, but it is the precedence set by the construction of the Performing Arts Center.

Look like Buddy and Phil are in for a struggle for a stadium that is not needed. How lied to the City and County about a soccer specific stadium again? Was it MLS or Phil?

This stadium deal is a pile of steaming manure!

I am starting to think that Orlando City is actually degrading the value of the youth club with its political wrangling.

The idea that a private property owner (much less a Church) could be forced to sell their land for a stadium is a complete disgrace. Eminent Domain laws were originally for things like roads, railroad right-of-way and utilities that were of benefit to ALL the public. A soccer stadium benefits a relative few soccer fans and a couple foreign millionaires.

Does anybody know if the new additions to the ECNL program will be full time or part time? Will they be keeping their coaching jobs at Florida Institute of Technology? Also the OCYS ECNL coaching list has been released for next year and all ECNL teams plus Pre ECNL will have 2 coaches assigned which could possibly mean that the new additions plus SR will possibly be part time but that is just speculation. Knowing that SR has many other responsibilities within the club and assuming that the FIT coaches will be keeping their college gigs, wonder what real impact this has.

Using eminent domain to forcible acquire a piece of real estate to build a soccer stadium is a very broad stroke usage of the public purpose requirement of eminent domain. I am an OCYS parent and I find this to be offensive. No, the church is not worth $35 million. But, in a rush to acquire the MLS franchise the stadium deal was not fully vetted by the City and the County. Using the courts and eminent domain to force the church to sell at less than replacement value is not good.

This story has gotten visibility outside of Orlando now. Would not be surprised if a prestigious lawyer wades in to represent the church.

Having two college coaches commute from Melbourne to Lake Mary for practice twice per week is not even realistic during FIT's season.

Is the ECNL program moving to the Space Coast as part of the Space Coast/OCYS merger rumor?

If yes, that is a game changer.

If that happened it would be like waving a white flag at the FKKrazies.

Irony is that "For the People" is closely connected to FCA.

For the people is also very connected to the ownership of OC, not just FCA!

Everything will be fine, youth soccer drama will ALWAYS be around and MLS will be in Orlando!
