You can become a business executive using many routes, but Harvard Business School opens more potential doors. Same with DA and ECNL. If you want to play at the next level it gives you more exposure. It is common for college coaches to attend normal league games in these leagues, and even attend training sessions. You can play at the next level without these leagues for sure, but they certainly help.

And how many players does OC have going to "Harvard" or any other high level "next schools?" Now that they have a year under their belt they should be lighting the ECNL world on fire. Isn't that what you OC lemmings said about the performance of the girls from the first year? Just too funny.

I don't disagree that it may help, but IMO many people (parents) make too big a deal out of it. I think for many parents this is their first rodeo and haven't been through this before.

I would also add however that your going to get more college coaches to show up and watch ECNL and DA teams that are at the top of the table than if you are at the bottom of the table.

And again how much all the kids that play D1 college soccer and even professionally without ever playing any ECNL or DA soccer. Trust me there are tons out there.

The DA has 17 NLI with 15 to D1, and thats just the DA! And the girls side has 12. I don't think that is bad at all. The FKK girls ALL got noticed in ECNL as well. If these two weren't a big deal you wouldn't be on here trying to tear them down because it wouldn't matter. How many boys D1 does FKk have 1 or two? Just too funny.

I have done both on the boys side and I can tell you it was much easier for the the one on the DA side and the talent between the two was similar. As for you second paragraph, simply not true. My sons club was lower end of DA table and there were coaches at every game. I agree it is not the only way, but it does give more opportunity. My son that didn't play DA played D1, but he had to work hard at getting noticed.

If you're going to play ECNL, the only choice is WFF. OCYS is a failed program stolen from people who earned it and kept only through legal threats. Truth is truth.

Refute it then. You can't. I was there. I'm not saying some would not have gotten the opportunity to play without ECNL, but I would argue that without it the numbers would be less and the quality of the programs less as well. Same could be said for the OC girls with NLI's.
