In your enlightened opinion, is it bad, or good, that a professional club is trying to give young local talent a chance on it's team.

As a follow up, do you think it's bad that that professional team (which has been around three years) did not develop the talent itself?
    Not the original poster, but:

I think a local professional club should be focused on winning, regardless of where talent comes from. A coaching staff that gives greater or lesser weight to "local talent" is foolish.

I think any professional team will have a combination of "developed" and "acquired" talent.

Another great weekend for the U14 ECNL. How many losses in a row DT and CM? Your girls suck.

OC only cares for OC. Soon everyone will see what some already see.

Open Letter to Orlando City Youth Soccer Club

What are you doing as a club to help prepare our girls for ECNL competition. Our U10,11,12 playing YDL and 8 v 8 is just not cutting it. Be honest with us please. Do you care?

Coaching needs to improve. Our competitor clubs are way ahead of us. Their coaching is better and they are getting scholarship offers for their girls ( And Boys ) so i ask again what are you doing? I love the color purple and love the idea of going to an MLS soccer match every once in a while but I assume you won't turn anyone away at the gate.

If things do not change expect a mass exodus of players..

They lost to two of the top three teams this weekend. The horror!!! How can OC call themselves a soccer club?

You kids are sad and your parents are worse for not having taught you better morals. Go play with your buddies and stay off the web with your silly propaganda and anon slanders.

Your prospective seems fair. The impact missing to date at OCYS is organization of youth structure and coaching dynamic. The coaching is average at best. OC is better off training teams at their complex vs giving parents a up close side by side comparison of coaching from rival club. Second even though on paper OC seems to have a structure in place. What's missing is the day to day organization of that structure. A paper club only goes so far.

I agree. I think OCYS has misread American youth soccer from the outset; while the goal of a Euro-model may seem a good thing, there's huge barriers to getting it established.

As you noted, they can only rely on marketing for a limited time- sooner rather than later there have to be tangible results.

I read on TS a lot that the u14 is loaded with talent.

I read somewhere on here they were predicting a 2nd place finish for the U14s. That was a HUGE reach at the time and shows how unrealistic they are. Another poster in the same sequence suggested they would be 3rd thru 5th in the end which I believe was much more realistic at the time. The OC U14 ECNL team will not finish 2nd or 3rd this year. 2nd is mathematically impossible and because of the unbalanced schedule they will not be able to catch BUSA for 3rd. BUSA plays the bottom 2 teams(GSA & ATF) 4x each and OC only plays them 3x each. They are now looking at a 4th-6th place finish depending on the outcomes of the rest of their games. They are currently sitting in 6th place after this weekend.

I'm pretty sure that the OP was talking about the U11 girls. They did get beat every game.

Heard they had some KEY injuries…..Someone on here also ranted about how EASY the season would get as it goes along, the girls will learn the speed of play and will gel better as they go…….Guess they are finding out how grueling the season can be. Sucks for the girls, but sure is nice hearing the BLARING silence from guys like LIL' man, and other mouth-foaming parents…….KARMA much?

They lost 2 one goal games to top teams when they clearly are hurting from all the offensive injuries. It isn't like they don't belong. Going in the road is tough enough without having to deal with missing starters.

Hough leaves FCA during the middle of the Spring season last year ( Reminder he was a director ) FCA was helping him with VISA issues via FPS. Now he's recruiting players away from FCA. This guys is a real gem. He fits right in with the Stoke City master planner.
As much as I detest AH have to correct you there. He has no Visa issues which is EXACTLY why he was able to jump ship on FCA. Had he been under a Visa for FPS they would have shipped him back very quickly just like they did w/ the last 2 D.O.Cs who were good people who realized they were working for a ****e outfit.
