I have commented about this issue repeatedly on TS. Why is OCYS in the youth soccer club operation business.

      1) access to practice facilities
      2) ticket sales

They embed a season ticket into every club members dues. It is a shell game to boost ticket sales and Buddy, Theresa are falling for it.

I love soccer. But, I am a realist that in the Orlando metro market of 1.3 million people that are not enough soccer fans to sustain a real pro franchise.

That is my point pops. I understand your sour attitude toward OCYS. If someone did my kid wrong, I would carry a grudge too. JUST LET IT GO! Those coaches are gone and that situation does not exist any more. OC recognized the problem and took the steps to fix it. You don't see current parents on here complaining do you? Why? Most of the complainers left and took their ball with them. The current parents are involved, the coaches are communicating and the "Directorship" has done a great job curtailing cost.

So let bygones be bygones OK? You and your lot keep living in the past and you are a poor reflection of the current situation in Central Florida youth soccer. Teams are rebuilding, some are aligning and some are disbanding. NEWS FLASH - It has been that way for the past several decades. Change is inevitable.

Good luck to your kid at the next level. We will all be proud to see another CFL player representing.
I have to give this poster credit ^^. A rational response that didn't try to belittle the kids that left OC last year as "whiners" or "losers", didn't try to brand the new club as somehow illegitimate for its mere existence, didn't personally attack people who simply have a different viewpoint (even if you disagree with the VP).

If more folks would 'agree to disagree", without the bile, things could settle into a healthy rivalry and we could all get back to attacking South Florida instead of each other.

Good luck to you as well- whatever club you're with.

Let the poor weak, dying thread just expire already. You FKKrazies are the only ones posting on it, trying desperately to revive it day after day.

I never read something so ridiculous in my life. Many pro clubs around the world would kill for a market like that.

Same could be said for ACDC in Tampa, sure lots of outside clubs from the local area are supporting but predominantly it's TBU teams

Actually, an OCYS parent annoyed at the cost of a scrimmage fest

The market is big enough for sure, but I also believe that Orlando is just not a sports town. Very very fickle fans in this city. As soon as a team starts losing nobody goes anymore.

What is the percentage? Is it as high as this Orlando City tournament?

I think it concerns people that as teams register this tournament could work out very well. I am happy to stay local for once besides Disney which I have to pay to see my kids play. I do think the focus of a thread like this is not concern but hope they can deter someone who doesn't know about the workings of a tournament.

you're right- i'm not familiar with how these tournaments work. Is it normal to have almost 50% of particiapnts from the host club? Is it normal to have most of the senior (u15 and up) groups with only 3 or 4 teams?

Yeah- they'd also kill to have a Tourist Tax pay for their stadium, and land/infrastructure donated by the City.
