Aren't most tournaments filled with a majority of home club teams. Look at ACDC, megacup all generally clubs from the immediate area, with a sprinkling of clubs that will travel to get there. Really not sure your problem other than a massive dislike for OCYS. (im not a big fan myself) I'm looking forward to it my sons team gets to play their rival OC purple team, Rush, ponte vedra, JFC so hopefully some decent games

A clever, sharp, shrewd and smart businessman. That's what makes the difference between failure and success. Got no problems with any of that.

YOUR problem is that it's someone else doing it, not YOU.

Nothing wrong with a good businessman.

Lot's of problems with a liar, a cheat and a scumbag. That is what Phil is!

He lies to kids, to business people, to coaches to anyone that can help him gets what he needs. Clever, sharp and shrewd can be put to good use but in this case he is a bad guy!

You are right and wrong I do have a problem with him doind what he is doing but I would never be doing it like that.

Wanna guess the right way to do it. Write it down on paper.

Your son is u10. I'm sure it will be a wonderful time for him and all the other 9 year-olds. Junior Boys make up 44% of participating teams overall, with OC teams making up 46% of the Junior Boys (u14 and under). If this was the aim of the tournament organizers it is a great success, and a huge payday for the snowcone vendor.

Good luck and enjoy the tournament.

Go Orlando City Lions! MLS Here We come!

Orlando City just need stadium deal in place to secure MLS entry

USL PRO champions Orlando City SC only need to secure a stadium deal in order to become Major League Soccer’s 21st franchise.

The Lions are leading the way to enter MLS as early as 2015, to join recently established club New York City FC, but president Phil Rawlins says a stadium agreement is required to confirm their status as a top flight outfit.

"Completing this final step would secure a Major League Soccer team before the end of 2013," Rawlins said in an email to the Orlando Sentinel.

"A vote is expected by both the County and City Commissioners in the coming weeks. We look forward to continue to work closely with them and encourage our fans to let their elected officials know they support this project."

Orlando City are attempting to collect 15,000 signatures before the end of September via an online petition - http://orlandobelievesinmls.com/ - and Rawlins is extremely positive after clinching more than 13,000 names.

"We are extremely encouraged by the early feedback from the petition drive," Rawlins said.

"It shows that people around Central Florida have a true passion for bringing Major League Soccer to Orlando. We still have yet to hit our goal of 15,000 signatures but are confident we can reach that milestone in the next few weeks."

MLS franchise would bring new jobs, tax incentive for team

The Orlando City Soccer Club plans to add more jobs if it becomes the newest Major League Soccer franchise, so it is asking for tax rebates from the state and city.

The team's workforce would more than double — adding 35 new employees to its current 34 — if the minor league USL Pro team makes it to the MLS.

Under a state job-creation incentive program, the team's parent company, Orlando Sports Holdings LLC, would be eligible for $3,000 for each new position it creates. The incentive would total as much as $105,000, based on the company's estimate of 35 new jobs over the next two years.

The jobs would not be players and coaching staff, but rather an expansion of front-office positions such as communications, marketing, operations and corporate and ticket sales. The jobs would pay an average of $45,485 a year, according to city records.

"It's essentially just the move from USL Pro to MLS staffing levels," team spokesman Chris Jones said. "You're doubling what we have on the front-office side of things. I think that's exciting, as well."

The Qualified Target Industry incentive program provides refunds on corporate income, sales, property, intangible personal property and other taxes.

The state would provide $2,400 per job, and Orlando would provide another $600. The state issues a refund only after verifying that the jobs were created and the wages are high enough to qualify.

The City Council is expected to approve the local funding on Monday.

"An MLS team in Orlando is more than just a new sporting amenity for our residents," city spokeswoman Heather Fagan said. "It brings jobs and economic opportunity to Orlando and the entire region."

MLS Commissioner Don Garber has all but promised Orlando will be home to the league's next franchise. But team owners said MLS requires new franchises to play in soccer-specific stadiums. Orlando City Soccer Club currently plays in the Citrus Bowl.

City and Orange County officials are currently negotiating a funding package for a new $85 million stadium that would be built in Parramore, about a block west of the Amway Center arena. The team would contribute $30 million; the county would provide $20 million in tourist taxes; the city would provide $20 million in land, interest earnings and sales tax savings; Seminole County has pledged $2 million; and the rest would come from stadium revenue.

OC / FKK - Time to move on

Most everyone seems happy at their current club be it FKK or OC. Many of us have friends at both clubs and while welcoming a rivalry think it is time to move on and stop the bitterness and hatred that seems to being perpetuated by a group of teenagers and from people in other clubs constantly stirring things up.

Ask yourself this.... how much useful information has come out of this posting war? How much useful information or good debates have been lost because of it? This "TS is an opinions site so don't try to control me" argument is old and tired and is self-serving for a group of teens/outsiders who just want to insult each other and their clubs.

Someone rehashes an old argument about one of the clubs - ignore it, someone insults your club - ignore it. Deny these posters the oxygen of responding, they hate that the most. I vote we move on and start self-policing our own threads when they threaten to get out of hand.

                            Hey wait a minute-

You're the same poster who just posted 4 times in the cFK thread telling everyone to stop posting there. so you start a NEW THREAD about the SAME THING? and you tell everyone that saying "TS is an opinion site" is a tired argument? But aren't you arguing your point by posting on TS? That's weird.

I've come to the conclusion it is just you and a teenage friend who cause ALL of these arguments.
