Everyone should be happy that central Florida has a Mega Club. Everyone should set their differences aside for the sake of the kids. The last I checked my kid was playing for themselves not me. They wanted to be apart of something new. Set your agenda aside and ask your kid what they want you may be surprised. And if you think your kid won't make an A or B team go get training you still have time before tryouts.

      1. Please post the aforementioned FYSA rule.

      2. Please explain how free season tickets from a USL Pro club violates the FYSA rule (see #1).

Abbott (MLS president) and Don Garber (MLS commissioner) seem to be at odds over MLS expansion. Abbott seemingly would be content with 20 MLS teams while Garber (continues to) "talks out both sides of his mouth". Abbott has been more straightforward and consistent with his attitudes about MLS expansion. Garber (continues to ) "string along" everyone, telling them "maybe" and "what they want to hear".

IF MLS comes to the southeast, the Raleigh area is only one of many potential locations.

Given MLS' prerequisites for a soccer-specific venue, $100 million + "to play", solid investor backing and consistent attendance, relatively larger metroploitan areas will be more palatable. Miami, Atlanta and (perhaps) Tampa.

Sorry, Orlando falls well toward the bottom of the list.

Prediction: Rawlins either moves the Lions to a city of greater MLS potential or sells out of the Lions in 1-3 years.
Which list are you referring to? I see no list in the article you cite.

The only mention of Miami and Tampa is actually in a negative sense where they are quoted as cities that used to have teams.

I think the list must only exist in your twisted, pessimistic, "oh no! the sky is falling" little brain , along with the vvoices that are telling you the future.

Those who keep up with MLS activities, news, etc. are well aware of the different cities in the southeastern USA which are potential candidates for MLS expansion. Additionally, southeastern USA cities with NASL or USL Pro teams have some semblance of an established fan base, which includes Miami and Tampa.

Sorry, despite your Disney World "fantasy" , for a number of reasons, Orlando is one of the LEAST likely sites for a MLS franchise in the southeastern USA, despite "voices in your head" expressing false optimism.

Stick to theme parks - that's what O-town does best.

Lets see. Anonymous posters with agendas says its a Disney World fantasy but MLS Commissioner Don Garbor meets with local government and has non disclosure agreement with OC has said he is convinced "it's not if but when for Orlando."

Oh yes ... I'd go with the anonymous posters with agendas.

Are you aware that Orlando City is a USL Pro team? Are you aware that they won the championship last year...their inaugural year (as Orlando City)? Are you aware they are well-capitalized? Are you aware they have a strong sponsor base, and are adding to that continually? Are you aware that they also have a PDL team, and a youth (largest in the region) club? While certainly no guarantee, OC is doing everything in a well-thought out, methodical way. From an outsiders point of view (not from the Orlando area), they have to be a contender when expansion cities are considered over the next few years if Florida is in the running. If you can't see that, man, you really are very tainted by your hatred. A few months of a TS holiday, sitting by the sea (or lake since you are a central Fl man) and lots of golf may help put life in perspective.

Listen if my kid is not good enough to make an OC team and all of the good players on his team are switching to there, what else do you want me to do but try to make up stories to scare them into staying on my sons team?

I love the armchairs experts that think they know more and are more business savvy than Phil Rawlins and the OC mgmt team who have their own money invested. Its reasonable to assume that a certain amount of due diligence was done in selecting Orlando as their home site.

Do you mean the people posting on here who make 30k a year don't know more than the guy who has invested double digit millions? Say it isn't so!!!!

Business losses make great tax write-offs.

Tomorrow April 15th OCS has it's first home match of the new season.

To date, how many season tickets has OCS sold?

Please get back to us with tomorrow's attendance figure along with paid (excluding free) tickets.

Are you aware that a whopping 891 die-hard USL Pro fans attended the Charlotte Eagles vs Orlando City (reigning USL Pro champion) in Charlotte, NC on April 7th?

Say, this OCS thing is destined for greatness!

We're expecting a fantastic crowd for Sunday's home opener. Six of our 13 sections have already sold out, and there is limited availability in the remaining sections!

Hey, if nothing else, you gotta admire OCSC's optimistic outlook.

Rather than say, "Six of our 13 sections have already sold out", OCSC could have said, "It's 2 days before our 2012 season opener and over half the seats remain unsold."

you could if you were a scared idiot and assumed that no tickets were sold in any other sections.

"limited availability in the remaining sections!" That's classic. As in limited to the total number of seats.
