This is quite narrow minded of you isn't it. There is an average of 3 kids per team getting help from the scholarship fund at CFK. This fundraising is not only for the kids of CFK but also for the kids of Orange and Seminole County that may need some help with school supplies. This isn't for you to fork over $100, this is a great way for you to teach your child that there are less fortunate people out there that might need a little help at a difficult time in their lives. I'm sure that you can help your child find a way to find other people that will help these two programs out. Nobody "mandated" that you donate $100 out of your pocket, just like no one has mandated that you buy a season ticket to watch Orlando City.

I have to say it rubbed me the wrong way receiving an email saying that this latest fundraiser was "mandatory". And we have opted not to do it. I don't appreciate being told anything in this club is "mandatory" , and really it isn't. What are they going to do if you don't participate? Nothing. Plain and simple. Looking at the participation at this point, looks like plenty of people don't like the "mandatory" mandate either.

Unfortunatly they will keep a list of who did participate and those players will ge a leg up at tryouts. Clubs/coaches do look at who are the followers as they will be easier to get what they want from them.

Think of it this way player johnny and player bobby are about equal and the coach is placing the players on black or white but player bobby does all the 'mandatory' fundraisers. Guess whos on black and whos on white.

Why would anybody want to coach on the girls side? I am amazed that EQ coaches there. Even with ecnl, which is great, I can't see a coach moving to that environment.

Let's look at HM's U16 team. One of the players on scholarship, who HM also funds to play and pays NO team (& tournament) fees, which means that his portion falls on the other parents. He has not attended one fundraising event, attended less than half the practices, did not attend one SSP session, missed games and did not notify the coach he would not be attending, and has to be driven around to all team events. BTW this is also the kid who HM overlooks bringing illegal substances to at least two tournaments. Now that is more than enough reason to shell out $100 for this MANDATORY fundraiser. Have been carrying this kid for enough time. I am done with it.

Is the same kid that always dress nice; new shoes; wears gold chains and diamond ear rings. He has a "do whatever you want and get away with it" card from HM. It is so funny; HM suspended one very good player for three games on the first round of State Cup for getting mad out of frustation during an exhibition game; by doing this; he penalized the whole team and the chances of moving forward on the first round. Double standards.

I think that poster is the one who hit a nerve when they hit the nail on the head with you...you are jealous of somebody elses success. You shouldn't be as life is all about choices and you perhaps didn't choose wisely...Don't get too upset I bet your husband thinks he didn't choose all too wisely either.

Oh. I'm so insulted. I guess you told me! And you even called me a girl? The horror. And yet none of that cancels the fact half the club was bailing on a guy who makes more money than anyone in the state for soccer. This includes the head coaches at our colleges. Thanks for asking.

Agreed! And on this subject, how about taking all that money that goes towards footing the bill for all those Coaches to go on the England trip for FREE - on the backs of parents who in some cases can not even make their mortage payments! Hell, they even sent a Coach from ACYS on the trip this year who wasen't even training/coaching at CFK.
Why not put that money towards scholarships? People, open your eyes and start asking questions!!

My child receives partial scholarship to play for CFK. It is not a complete free ride for us, but helps subsidise the cost of the soccer fees. I am grateful for the help that CFK does provide for us and it allows my child to continue to play a sport she loves. I am hardworking parent who doesn't quite make enough for the extra's and it sickens me some of the comments made about this fundraiser. With parents making comments like this, how are your children's opinions going to be on helping others, becasue the apple doesn't far from the tree.

That is wonderful but it still doesn't justify why it is OK for CFK to have mandatory fundraisers while their Coaches and Coaches form other clubs get to go on a tour of England for free.

People have paid $600 for having as many as 38 players per team when USL/Super-Y limits rosters to 26 players maximum and and matches to 18 players maximum? What's wrong with this picture?

These players should be assigned to a roster no less than 3 days prior to a game. Club must comply with all League and USSF/CSA rules regarding use of foreign players. Club must register all players prior to participation in the League. The only official roster of eligible players will be located on the League website and is the responsibility of the Club to manage. League may require proof of citizenship or legal residency of each player.

Rule 501 - Registration Deadline

All player registrations must be submitted and approved at least two (2) weeks prior to the beginning of the season. Failure to comply will result in players being ineligible. New players being added to rosters during the season must be registered no later than ten (10) days prior to the player‟s first match.

There is no limit to the number of foreign players on the roster as long as they have the proper international clearance when applicable. OK OCYS supports, can you explain this? This almost sounds like fraud to me. The organization is selling something they can't possibly deliver.
