What a stupid statement, Ports had a solid team without MK and they would have made the top 10 teams and been in the playoffs. A great player makes a solid team better, see Mt Hope and Cumberland this year. See the M sisters on Lasalle a few years back. But a great player can't do anything without some talent around her.... see MK at St. George presently.

Watch what St. Georges does in the playoffs when they really unleash her!

You just described SK, CW, Prout and EG. Hell - throw in Lincoln for that matter. They are all solid, they all have some talent but none of them have anyone close to a MKM.

Without her there was no run to the final four let alone a State Title. You are literally describing (Ports w/o MKM) the bottom 60% of D1.

Congrats to Cumberland 3 over Mt. Hope 2 tonight. Wasn't there, so not sure what circumstances were until video is reviewed.

Can say close review of Smithfield v Portsmouth quarterfinal game showed serious errors of critical match incidents by two-man referee system, including lack of clear DOGSO against Portsmouth in penalty area by Smithfield. This would have meant PK chance for Portsmouth when down 0-1, then Smithfield continues with only 10 players when they were already weary by 70th min.

Can't say PK would have changed game outcome of Smithfield v Portsmouth. Can guess Smithfield was more talented team, and guess Portsmouth got robbed of fair play, if anyone cares about that in HS sports these days.

Can say all HS quarterfinals players and fans would benefit from 3-man referee system.

In observation, mt hope is not a very good team. All they do is kick the ball it's ridiculous. Didn't even see them string three passes together. Surprised they made it this far.
