Originally posted by Unregistered View PostOk smart guy, actually they are not just staying the same. For starters, they are merging the older teams with NEFC SC which means that at those age groups, the best players from both clubs teams will actually make stronger top teams in each age group. Then there is the little fact that NEFC is MUCH more organized and has MUCH more money than Blackwatch ever was and could be, and you are crazy if you don't think that NEFC RI won't grow into a stronger program than Blackwatch ever was in the years going forward. Does that mean they'll upend Bayside as the top Rhode Island premier club ... no, all I said is that it was going to be stronger than Blackwatch as a whole ever was moving forward.
And yes, there is the new issue of the NPL going US Club which means SRI has got to seriously get creative with their State Cup plans next year.
1."merge older groups and make them stronger" last I checked you need two of something to merge.
U19 no teams.
U18 no teams.
U17 no boys teams. NEFC SC no girls so the same old BWP U17 girls team
U16 no NEFC SC boys & no BWP girls
U15 no NEFC SC boys & finally an opportunity to merge at U15 girls (are we stronger yet?)
U14 no NEFC SC boys & 2 NEFC girls teams ( maybe you can merge them?)
2.And that "much more money" you are talking about thats going into peoples (Pat, Scott & Joe) not into your children's development.
Wake up bud your being taken for a ride and your children will suffer as a result.

Bayside u15 didn't see that storm coming out of Portsmouth. Back to back years that team loses to a town team in the cup.

Storm?? What did I miss? It was 2 to 1 when the ref called a chest ball a handball in the box. The first of many game changing calls Leading to the big finish, letting the goalie step off the line in Pks before the ball was touched not once but twice!
An entire game of a ref being more concerned with what's being said around him than the actual game. At one point a player was laid out on the field injured and instead of checking on her he was more concerned with going after another player for what she said to him.
Injured player vs Ego.

The referee made a bad call in the box and changed the outcome of the game. SRI looks like the fools because they didn't send the best U15 team to regionals. Bayside is moving on to bigger & better things, State Cup is a joke!
You're wrong about your second point; state cup is the best tournament of the year which creates the most exciting matches of the year.

Life lessons learned:
Things in life are not always fair.
Not everyone has to play by the same set of rules
Many people are given jobs they aren't qualified for and aren't capable of performing
Mishaps happen
Skill can not always overcome Obstacles especially when they are created by authority.
None of these lessons are really new, typical of RI state cup.
