Just the NPL showcases will be worth it. I have a friend in NY that says the showcases are great and tons of college coaches. My guess is that Bruno will fall apart and I know too many people that are unhappy at that club. NEFC RI not sure how successful they will be. What do they have to look forward too, NEP games and RI State Cup. All the top tournaments take NPL teams on the top brackets.
I love Bayside but I think it smarter not to take anything for granted. Bruno and Blackwatch would be the last of the competition to fold though they might lose their girl's side.

Bayside is the best club in RI, but you are still only barely able to compete against the top 10 MA teams in whichever age group. There may only be 5 RI players on the Scorpions, but the top 10-15 of all girls RI players across all the age groups will gravitate to MA, just like they do now. Whether its U14 or U17, MA has more to offer as far as training and competition. If bayside can get to that level, maybe you'll attract RI players to stay in RI, but for now, you're not there yet.
Totally agree. The move to NPL is a positive one for Bayside. But realistically, rarely does a Bayside team compete effectively with the top 5 teams in any Mass age group. The teams, facilities, coaching are all just better in Mass. The college connection network is greater. And this is a RI parent posting.

There are about 3 kids with Scorps, another 2-3 with Stars, and probably a handful dispersed across NEFC clubs (not many with top teams).

Not sure I would consider any of them other than LaSalle goalie, Portsmouth phenom, & EWG senior top in their age division.

There are no Smithfield girls that are currently the top in their age group. There have been some in the past, in fact more than just about any other town in RI, but not right now. The LaSalle goalie lives in Smithfield but I don't think she ever played town soccer for anyone.

Sorry smithfield U10s really aren't part of the discussion. The last of the Smithfield players is accounted for above in the FC Stars count.

if they were the top players in their age group in rhode island then they would not have run away to hid in the crowd in Mass. They would have stayed in rhode island to showcase there talent against RI best players

Lol! That's hilarious. Spoken by someone who truly has no clue. But thanks for your ridiculousness.

Just like that fool Matt Fraser from the Providence Bruins "ran away" from his team in RI to go "hide in the crowd" with the Boston Bruins.

Thanks for not helping argument, stay the hell out of discussion if you have no clue of who the talented players are in state.

These three are great players and should be playing there, all the others could be saving themselves time and money by playing for Bayside and they would be getting just as great exposure.
