What you mean by STRONG CARRYING ABILITY? Are you referring to dribbling or being able to take players 1 on 1? Foolish of me. You are referring to kick and run where Player A just out run Player B because of their superior speed and size. It work in HS but I not sure it will work at the premier level. Most players have equal abilities so tactic and technical skills usually determine the outcomes. Unfortunately my experience is most kids that play HS many of them play town(Superliga) and their first touch, ball trapping, passing, dribbling and field vision are soo bad you can even string more than 3 passes.

I have seen KV play and I can assure you she has no problem finishing. Also I might add those on the soccer leading board are all premier players os your agrument does not hold water here.
You are quite possibly the biggest donkey on this site - that says a lot. You are only mixing about nine different arguments together. So let me summarize:

    1. Bayside most definitely has a "system" of play which aspires to the Spain/Portugal possession/exploit strategy, as opposed to an English/Scottish direct approach.

    2. The possession game is defined by the quickness in which decisions and ball movement is made. The advantages in moving the ball quickly and not dribbling are measured in seconds which is why most premier teams that play possession are great at stringing a couple passes and then a bad touch happens and the advantage is lost through a tackle or turnover.

    3. In high school - it's opposite and 1 out of every 5 touches is a good one with the ball remaining at their feet, therefore possession and playing to the center of the field or backwards (all hallmarks of possession style) is dangerous and usually ends in a bad result. This is why I say Bayside kids are neither fish nor fowl when playing HS, they can't count on their teammates to do anything with their great passes and they aren't use to trying to do it all alone anymore when no one supports them.

    4. No one ever mentioned KV in this discussion - I was speaking about the collective group of talent in the state. If you ask coaches which players are the top talent in the state at 15, 16, 17 - most would be from Bayside and most will NOT be in the top 10 goal scorers list.

First of all, probably only 1 out of 100 parents and coaches at Bayside and at every other club has no idea what the difference is between Spanish and English styles of play. You'd be lucky if any of them can even find those countries on a map, although quite possibly they could distinguish between Sangria and a British beer, but even that might be a stretch. Your claim that bayside adheres to any kind of coherent system and that a bayside player stands out among other better players in RI is laughable. Go back to watching spongebob.

You are making an *** of yourself. Do a litttle research before you state your facts.

In spite of your name calling, I will respond and defend this guy by saying that, if you read the original post, the OP was blaming BS for the poor play in HS. This argument devolved into why play is so poor in HS. Some stuck to the original argument, citing examples of BS players, KV in particular, who were successful in both venues. Others stuck with the arguments about why HS play is so poor. You argument, as stated above is the same as most of the others, in that there are to few skilled player in HS to play BS style. That I agree with, what I don't agree with and maybe you aren't the one that made this point originally, is that somehow BS training has made the BS players unable to play another style. BS, BW, TW, you pick the club, the coaches will tell you, when their kids come back to train in with them in Mid November, they have to re-teach them how to play. So some how, some way, the lowest common denominator won out and the BS kids all starting to play undisciplined, technically poor soccer, just like their teammates. You cant have it both ways.

If you've ever seen BS play, you'd know that HS soccer is a step up from the style they came from.

My kid played at BS. I don't care for BS style, my personal preference. But HS soccer has more in common with medieval combat than it does with actual soccer

I agree with the name caller - Bayside sucks the creativity out of players I've noticed a difference in mine since they started playing there. They think making good passes and not turning over the ball is like scoring a goal.

They don't do a good job getting the kids to understand why you posses the ball.

Your first point explains why we moved from the old Rays to Bayside. The Rays used a combination of the Uzbekistan team's exploitation offense with the Lithuanian defensive set up. We preferred the Spanish/Scottish approach so moved to Bayside. Thanks for pointing this out!

                    SJ of NK
                    VC of Smithfield
                    KS of EWG

these players excel at the same things as KV and I'm sure there are others but I've seen these ones on the field.
so why didnt this top EWG player face off agianst Pilgrims Bayside prodigy yesterday? Let me guess--the annual West Greenwich cow pie chucking contest took place on the soccer field?

I don't have a dog in any of these fights but the kid from Pilgrim is a talented, hard working player - I can tell you she's always the smallest player on the field but plays the toughest. Calling her out as a prodigy or anything else derogatory is kind of BS if you've ever seen the kid play - she plays hard and gets results.

Bay View beats EG-I guess they are for real.

I have heard they have an excellent coach-good for them. I know they have had some tough times the last few years over there.

It really looks like the field is wide open this year.
