Great hire! Great idea about virtual trainings and zoom meetings.

This club is doing the right thing. I predict great things for this club going forward.

"Good to give the players a nice long physical and mental break. Especially with what’s going on in the world today."

"Spring soccer is over which means the season is over. With tryouts moving to fall or winter for most teams (no fall season for this age group) it seems to be the right time to give kids a break. These teams won’t be back on the field together until next spring anyway."

"Bucks is worried about the kids and families while all the other clubs care about $$$$$ and not much else."

"You just wrote something ^^ that mattered very little a month ago BUT now matters ZERO with what is going on with the world today. Lack of communication by a youth coach is about as low on the importance list as you can get."

"It’s just crazy that this super dumb stuff is still so important to you. People sick and dying, tons laid off, school cancelled rest of year but some coach still gets you this upset? Wow"

"You right. It’s pathetic. Your kids team didn’t call you or email you some baby soccer drills. Grow up you man child."

"Soccer is over until next winter. Give it a break cry baby. People have much bigger things to worry about now."

"Why would any of this matter? These teams won’t be on the field together until next winter/spring (no fall season at this age). And by then who knows what the teams look like and who is on the team. So these soccer drills and FaceTime is nice but not going to mean anything."

Is this a full-time DOC hire? Will CM leave Villanova? If this is not a full-time DOC hire it will fail. The DOC has to be all in, or else you end up having the same situation as the 06 team did with a HS coach. A college coach cannot make attend anything from late July to the end of November. They cannot manage the club during showcase and national events. This type of DOC will not be there and FC Bucks needs someone to develop the club and fix the problems. It is not possible to coach a D-I program and run an ECNL club. Without a full-time DOC that can put everything into the club, it will be a failure! I have seen this type of hire fail over and over again. Mike O'Neill at PDA can get away with it because Lary Hart, Tom Anderson and Gerry McKeown area always at the club; they are at the fields every night and weekend, they live at PDA. FC Bucks don't have the support staff. Also college coaches think club level soccer is easy until they take the position, they have no idea how much harder a club job is over coaching college. Unless CM is leaving Nova to take a full-time DOC job, this won't workout. It does look good on paper, but that won't be enough to fix the problems.

Axe is the Jim Acosta of this thread.
He is always angry and he gets played and looks silly everyday.

Great idea after watching many other clubs doing this for 3 weeks or more

Good points here - but bottom line ANYONE that can walk and chew gum at the same time will be a HUGE improvement over DM. We’ve already received an email from him something DM never did! Bucks needed change at least they did something . Time will tell if it’s a great hire or just better than what we had. CM does not have very big shoes to fill, so I would expect most to be pretty happy with him as compared to DM

Also, CM will really be able to make his recruiting dollars go far - the club will be paying all his expenses to the showcases, where he can recruit all he wants - pretty sweet gig for him and Villanova.

Yeah it’s all good! Very good hire. Everyone sounds very happy with this.

Yep! He will be the snack stand coordinator!

                              PDA manages to do it.

Learn the rules. If the club is paying his expenses he can't recruit.
