(ps. When was the last time any of the CR schools have been relevent?)
The Deep Run team was fools gold. Yes they had a better record or got soccer ranking than the CRUSA team, In reality the team just had a few good athletes with marginal soccer skills who could out run the girls on other teams on a small sided 9v9 field. Once they moved up to ECNL level competition and an 11v11 field they haven’t been able to replicate that success because just running fast with your head down hoping to beat the defense doesn’t work at this level on a larger field. The best teams have athletes with soccer skills. This team just has athletic girls whose soccer skills have either peaked or aren’t getting better due to lack of training.

That is a broad stroke but certainly applies to some. The bigger, faster, athletic kid always gets the benefit of doubt. The small, slow, technical kid better be really good if not great.

Not a single CRUSA kid who was a “must have” yet there was BB in JMs living room - meaning BBs kid, at least to him, was a “must have”

That is not what happened with this team...the backroom deal was first...BB's daughter and her friends were 2nd....there was no look to see who was faster etc....if you want to be honest start to admit that the backroom deal was a mistake and that the entire 2006 team was screwed would love to know who originally thought of this backroom deal?? BB, DM or someone from the Deep Run team....all of the FC Bucks tryouts are a joke, they have the girls come pay money and scrimmage the entire time...that doesn't show anything because they put the girls with their friends and don't pass or include the girls that the team thinks are the "outsiders"

You are really living in the past. Maybe move on with your life? Or is soccer your everything?

Certainly there are many examples of this happening at FC Bucks over the past 5 years. The DOC is a below average coach, and an ever worse DOC, so the environment is less than average. This is backed up with the club being towards the bottom of the entire ECNL, as well as the top players leaving the each year for more challenging environments.

So, expect the same problems and outcomes to happen with the 2006 team. It’s already happening.

Solution would be for RF and BB to step down. DM is not just hurting the 06 team, but is killing FC Bucks as a club. Changes need to happen.
This post is so spot on, like coming from someone that is invested in FC Bucks. Perhaps you should start getting other coaches involved and try to make some changes.

You are missing the point....no one is living in the past...the club chose to follow BB and allow him to manipulate Deep Run and CRUSA into believing this was the right decision...there is no one one either team at that age that was a "must have" and BB saw the writing on the wall....if there was a true tryout BB's daughter might not be on the ECNL...tryouts should have all skills, speed and agility gone through. For a tryout to consist of mostly scrimmaging is ridiculous and doesn't allow the "coaches" to see if someone has improved in their conditioning etc. with the number of kids that tried out even if it was a farce which it was at the very least they should be able to spread out and use the whole field...not share the field with another age group

Just curious, you keep ragging on the dad assistant coaches kid. Do you think your daughter would have truly made it if there was a fair tryout??

Not raging on the dad coach...just stating the facts...who knows what would have happened if there had been a fair tryout...your daughter might or might not have made it...unbelievable how you think some people can rage on the dad coach but others can't....maybe my daughter is on the team but when looking back and seeing through clearer eyes based on the type of soccer that the team is playing questioning if she should be or should not be....

If friendships determine rosters, stay in rec .... absolutely no place for it in competitive sports ... if that is what you want, steer clear of play in stronger leagues .... it will turn out to be a disaster.

PLEASE STOP! Friendships are not important to chemistry in any way shape or form .... are you joking? You are constantly trying to find any players that make each other better because of their styles of play. Whether they knew each other before yesterday is unimportant. With time, dedication, and lots of practice, you can sometimes achieve chemistry, but mostly it comes from the right blend of players and personalities. The tightest group of friends with little to no soccer ability have almost no chance of developing chemistry to overcome the opponents they will be facing in the ECNL every week.

EXACTLY!!! If you want a roster that is determined by friendships and carpools, then go play rec. ECNL is supposed to be competitive - when you "dumb it down" and start forming teams based on things that rec teams are formed from - then you are just a glorified rec team with a patch. The results show on the field.

Bottom line - there are girls on this team who are there, not because they are good soccer players, but because of who they are friends with, where they live, and who their dads are. And there are girls who are not on this team who werent left off of it because they are not as good.

The chemistry that naturally forms from playing day in and day out which then leads to friendships...yes a coach is constantly trying to find players that make the team better and teamwork happens but when an entire team is picked based on what was said here that the Deep Run parents wanted their girls to continue to play together is not what should have happened...unless you are one of those people who thinks that the "backroom deal" didn't happen....

There are other dads in bed with the “dad coach” (not literally). For example, there is one dad in particular who was very instrumental in the “back room deal”. He doesn’t want his daughter to play Position X and instead she plays Position Y, even though her skills are far more suited for Position X. Because of this dad’s role in the “backroom deal” and his friendship with BB, his daughter plays where he wants her to play – Position X.

Point is, unless you undo the “backroom deal” and get completely rid of BB, and a passive RF who lets this stuff happen, this team will never live up to its potential and will fold within 1 year.

Interesting tidbit from PA Prep Live Pennridge Article:

“We were working on PKs and struggling on them but our corners in practice were amazing,” Anderson said. “I think out of the 30 we took, we scored on half so I was feeling pretty confidence. Then, we get zero corners in the first half so we talked about at halftime at getting corners, so it was nice to see them fight for a corner then score off it.”

                                ------------------------------------------------------------

Shows you the importance of actually having practice. Having your coach present at practice. Having your coach work on specific things in practice and then putting it in place during game situations. I dont think anyone objectively can say this team has anything like this in place with RF and dad coach.
