Here are the facts - If you are a top player (at a national level) at FC Bucks and you really believe your kid has a shot at decent D1 school, chances are you are leaving FC Bucks to got to a club that actually commits kids to D1 schools and has a college development program (i.e., PDA). If you are a decent player, and are angling more towards a bottom level D1, D2, or D3 school, you are statistically no better off at FC Bucks ECNL than top level EDP. team. If anything you are better off financially at a club that costs less, and are better off at a club that has coaches with connections at these colleges and has a college development director or someone in charge of college recruiting.
statistically you are far better to be playing at an ECNL club. ZERO college looks at an EPD level and hundreds of looks for all ECNL players. The ECNL players always have eyes on them where EPD players have none. FC Bucks are a joke, but your child will be seen.

Unfortunately, the facts do not support what you are saying. If you take a look at the FC Bucks college commitments - "being seen" because your FC Bucks player is technically ECNL, isn't really translating into actual D1 commitments. Look at the schools FC Bucks players are committing to - then look at the rosters of those schools. You will find players on those school's rosters almost equally from ECNL teams as you do EDP teams.

There is no doubt, ECNL as a whole does a much better job at placing players at D1 schools than EDP, but the vast majority of D1 ECNL commitments are coming from top ECNL clubs and are not coming clubs like FC Bucks. Put another way - if your kid was at PDA, you stand a much better chance at being seen, and the being seen translating into an actual D1 commitment. Right now, sharing air at an ECNL showcase simply isn't working for FC Bucks.

Is it better to get “hundreds” of looks in ECNL or to play for a coach on a high level EDP team that has very good contacts and is willing to advocate for his players in terms of phone calls, emails and personal contact with the college coach?

An ECNL club will always have the advantage if they have a good person running a college scout recruiting program. A person with connections is all that is needed. FC Bucks don't have anything in place.

Agreed - you only need to look at FC Delco - they are a perennial basement dweller in ECNL Northeast along with FC Bucks. They have someone in charge of college recruiting and are getting more commitments for their players and better schools than FC Bucks.

It won't change a thing with LS still calling the shots as the executive director. He should be fired for the website alone!

DM is only the first domino that needs to fall. Next up - RF and BB. Hopefully this McClain guy has enough say to set some standards and rid FC Bucks ECNL of daddy coaches. Although, who knows if this will happen considering BB is the VP of FC Bucks

A great turnout for the local showcase from Feb. 2020. Great bang for your buck.
Exactly! 68 PA college coaches attended ... not to mention surrounding states! Yeah, but you NEED to piss money away to ECNL and go to TX!!

And the coaches only went to the DA matches.

FOOL! You do not get hundreds of looks because of ECNL. If your kid sent emails to 100 college coaches, she is an idiot and so are you .... even if they all did watch her. Please, please, please listen .... tell your kid to find colleges that are good fits for academic and social reasons .... find 2 or 3 of each of these .... stretch schools, great fits, safety schools. Chances are that these schools also have womens soccer .... once you find the right schools, pursue the soccer.

PS - College coaches are not scouting the masses, dummy ... they scout players that contact them. They will first watch film if they can. If a player passes that sniff test, they will ask for schedule and try to see a kid locally or at a tournament. They will all ask you to attend their for profit clinics, but make no mistakes, college coaches rarely cold-call anyone unless your kid dumped in a hat trick against a top team they happened to be at attendance for .... even that not too likely for a disciplined college coach with limited time and resources ..... they can barely checkout the kids expressing interest ... cold calling really kills their ability to land players.

Bingo - doesn’t change a thing for this team unless both coaches also go!

Wonder if BB as the VP of FC Bucks had anything to do with DM getting the boot.

Absolutely false. They are interested in players that are interested in them and, quite honestly, GDA is a well-known shyte show loaded with talentless players. As I said before, coaches are not cold-calling players ... it is not an effective strategy. If your kid was at that tournament and sent coaches hi-lites and a nice email that passed the sniff test (as well as a schedule of their local games and the their games at that tournament), most college coaches will make it their mission to get to a game even for 10 minutes. Remember, local tournaments cost college coaches nothing to attend and they can have their entire staff there to scout local players.
