Where are you seeing last year's results? ECNL takes down prior year results at the start of a new season.

I followed them last year. Was actually surprised the discrepancy in the records and scores. Expected a little more cohesion in the results.

Not discrediting ECNL at all. It's a pick your poison and do what's best for you. The characterization that top to bottom either one is better than the other is just false, that's all.

I know PDA was trying to run both GDA and ECNL, can't remember about Stars. As big as PDA is, of course the talent was split. Some kids didn't want one or the other for their own reasons. With PDA, Stars and now NYCFC gone NE GDA is weaker than ever. At least they booted Alby and Empire

Starsm and PDA are one in the same: Both founding members of ECNL, both on the board, both trying to limit outside entries for the league, both rather put in B teams then to open up competition.

Again, you need to look past PDA and Stars. Lots of Continentals and SUSAs taking up space that shouldn't be there. At least GDA will boot out the terrible teams.

Yes, all of this stuff is nonsensical, but does anyone really believe that PDA 03 ECNL could beat Solar 03 GDA in a game??

Agree, especially now that Albertson is gone. Remove FSA and there’s not an overall weak club in the bunch. Sure, a weak year here or there, but not an overall weak club. Can you say that about GDA?
What’s interesting is FSA would be competitive in the GDA. They consistently lose, but not at the consistent -7 to -9 level like several of the GDA teams. At the very least they’d be mid table in that league. What does that tell you about the difference between the two leagues?

Don't kid yourself. FSA is terrible. They park the bus and counter for a short while until they run themselves ragged. Poorly coached club with absolutely no style. They played Oakwood in friendlys last year (00 and 01's) and OW slaughtered them.

Agreed. Awful. Can't believe parents pay money for that. But they pay for LISC too. I couldn't believe Empire lasted two years - the cost and absurd travel for weekly beatdowns? No thank you.

I call BS on that. Please name the club and provide the club stats for any of the other teams in the NE ECNL that were poor across the board.

Can't, it's been removed. But, to be clear, there were a smattering of clubs truly awful. Continental jumps out at me, and so was SUSA. Depends on the age groups. Same as in GDA.

No reason to be defensive. Not out here saying one is better, so not sure why your panties get so wound up. I just see reality. And, I have been told the same from many sources, both within ECNL and within GDA...as well as from within the coaching community.

Be happy with your choice and move along. But, in the meantime...zip up because your laying your dlck out there as some way to measure yourself just doesn't work.

The scrimmage was last year fall pre ECNL season. (You know, when ECNL kids are playing HS varsity soccer. However, the NPL JV kids were available to fill in) And there were no 00 teams because they were in college. But don’t let facts get in your way of your superiority. Carry on.

I have nothing against ECNL. You're the one coming onto a GDA thread and trying to lay pipe. Let it go. The soccer community thinks highly of your league. They think highly of GDA as well. You talk tough...I think your ego can handle a shared podium.

Maybe, maybe not. Doesn't change the story that for 75% of the teams, it's all the same. The only people who think differently are the the ECNL parents....
