Everyone is tired of traveling to blow teams out or even to just play a good game. We drive past five good team to play a distant one. This whole thing is in ruins.

Bucks and Continental have gotten better because kids left Penn Fusion. Not interested in giving up HS Soccer. Jest remember Penn Fusion tried to get back to ECNL

8-0 blowouts were pretty rare in ECNL. Games were more closely matched. You also didn't travel all that way for one sh*t game. You might have one poor game one day but the next day have a great game.

Remember, they don’t attract players as it is. Next year the 15 player roster for the 05/06 team splits. They have 7-05 players with no chance of filling that roster. The GDA is also talking about splitting the 02/03 group for next year. They will be screwed. They don’t have the player pool dude. Why would they spend the money on that?

They're not the ones spending the money - it's the parents who write the checks. That's why they'll probably spilt that age group and have only one combined age team (U19s) after this year. More teams=more players=more money for clubs and ussf.

Gda teams most certainly have weekends where they play 2 games and they seem to survive.

Talent? We have plenty of talented players, and our teams are all doing well, with the 02/03 being one of the best in region 1. As far as try-outs go, I told you WCFC really stymied the process, and made some awkward moments unbearable. Chris Kelly is particular hates the GDA, and will tell anyone who will listen, that its a failed league, and that missing HS soccer is some type of child abuse, how can we survive with the Girls ECNL DOC against us so much??

Someone knows the truth. WCFC seem to really hate the GDA. No idea why. It all starts with the fact that they are parents. they think that what is best for their kids is best for everyone. It wont end well.

I agree that it's more than just NYCFC. GDA just isn't working for some players/isn't attractive to some players. If the top club can't attract top players it's not a good sign

The hilarious part is that parents are actually complicit. they are so desperate to believe that Jane is a top player, that they would rather discredit the vehicle than accept that maybe, just maybe they are just not good enough.

The problem with GDA is that frankly, most players indeed have nothing to gain by giving up anything because they are not going to increase their trajectory dramatically by doing so.

GDA will not survive when right sized, it cannot make the $$$ that the ECNL can.

Very true. The path is the same for both DA and ECNL and it’s college. These girls, even if they go pro, will spend a year or two making $25K and get out. So what’s the point? DA was formed for what? So stupid. All they did was water down the product and make it worse.

The truth is, you are a parent, and you are only thinking about the fact that you won't be able to post stuff on your social media page with the NYCFC logo on it. This is about YOU, not about what is best for the majority of players at WC. And here's a newsflash for you dad, you are WC with a fancy uniform on. Your daughter plays at WC fields, Your daughter is coached by WC coaches, OMG don't you see how funny this all is?
