Aren't most of the players and coaches the same from last year? You don't just drop down in performance in a few months unless 1) good players left and weren't replaced by equal quality ones 2) the coaching took a serious nosedive 3) the competition suddenly got better

We know it's definitely not #3, so it's probably 2/3s #1 and 1/3 #2. How are they shorting the team this year vs last? Specific examples please

Last year NYCFC was behind the girls. Promoted them on social media, had them over to their training facility, promoted tryouts, etc. This year, other than a tweet about the one player on the Uraguay team, they have been silent, but the boys have been all over social media. Tryouts for the team this year were a huge disappointment and players from World Class opted to play in ECNL as they could see first hand that there was no difference between ECNL and GDA. The current 05 and 06 teams in ECNL are off to a great start, and they love their coaches so why leave? The players who left to go to GDA are not happy. The 04 team has a roster of 15, which means players left and they could not replace them. Again a disappointing tryout played a huge role in this teams success. They have the makings of a good team but one kid is out with an ACL injury and 2 of those players are goalkeepers so numbers hurt them. If your younger teams are not attracting players, how can you expect the teams to survive?

Who said anything about dropping down in performance, the teams are all quality, and they are all trained as well as any club, even PDA or PF. Its the ECNL who has us in their sights, and yes they have the power to make our lives miserable....

Yo moronic, what did I just say, its not about that, its about brand, and ECNL and WC are on a search and destroy mission, and NYCFC has said nothing. Personally, I am very happy with my daughters performance, as I believe she is as good, or better than any 04 WC ECNL players, its just a shame that the big club has not embraced us more.

The WC girls did not opt for WC, they were all basically told that GDA was not long for this earth at Orangeburg, they were heavily cohersed to stay at ECNL, HEAVILY....

You can't pin all of that on NYCFC. The league is weak, especially in the NE. Why commit all the time and money and give up HS for that? There's only so much they can do to recruit when part of what they have to sell - GDA - is a poor product.

Actually, I can pin NYCFC for not supporting us, they could say yes we still want them to train at WCFC and play in the NE GDA, but its crickets out here, and if they do just let us fade away I will bash them until the end of time, and every chance I get.

Talent? We have plenty of talented players, and our teams are all doing well, with the 02/03 being one of the best in region 1. As far as try-outs go, I told you WCFC really stymied the process, and made some awkward moments unbearable. Chris Kelly is particular hates the GDA, and will tell anyone who will listen, that its a failed league, and that missing HS soccer is some type of child abuse, how can we survive with the Girls ECNL DOC against us so much??

Is the league weak overall or just in the NE and maybe some other regions? IMO if one league was strong in one area and another league was strong in a different region that would be a positive development. It would force the regionalization of youth soccer which is what is needed. These national event are burdensome, time consuming, expensive and exclusionary for no real developmental or showcasing benefit. No real preference who wins where, just one or the other would help everyone.

SE and NW are also shaky. CA, TX are absolutely on top. But even then CA lost its top club last year back to ECNL.
