Actually, in fact, if something like the above did come to fruition I'd say it's 50-50 my kid would even make it (depending on which teams make the cut, locations, etc.).

I do agree no league would want to do it because they are there to make money. Good on them for figuring it out.

(Not understanding how your post relates to the comment there were already too many teams, yet some clubs put in 2 teams -- thereby proving there was room to add teams)

But those 2nd teams are for the insiders so they get the money. This is business.

There is room for more teams. Not every DA or ECNL player deserves to be there. But, if you take 10 from ECNL and 10 from DA and put the best 15 in a Awesome Soccer League (or whatever you want to call it), there would be enough and it would be high level.

Arbitrary numbers on the above, don't go asking for "which teams do you think......?"

Sure there's always room for garbage teams. But there is an insufficient number of quality players AND coaches for more teams. If your scenario was so simple we wouldn't even be having a discussion about GDAs impending doom. It would have been successful out of the gate.

There are players both at WC ECNL and NYCFC that are former NYSC. Not sure if thats good or bad for NYSC.

It’s not good. No one starts off at NYSC. They get their basic training at smaller clubs. They moved on to NYSC when they had NPL. The better players then moved on to ECNL or NYCFC. They are just a stepping stone for most players

Insufficient affluent players. If some of these teams were funded, like the boys, many many talented players would be vying for all the spots.

They did not want to Saturate regions with ECNL teams, which is exactly what US Soccer did by adding NYSC, they already had 2 LI teams

it wouldn't The very top of the pyramid here Full NT and allocated is only 20 players. No one else makes any money. There are 300+ Div 1 programs so you can get a spot without sacrifice. So no need to. Even if there were thousands of great players, there is no economically viable spot for them

It is weird asking paying customers to make sacrifices. They have that all wrong. Maybe a few but most expect to be rewarded in some way for making a sacrifice, not charged an arm and a leg for the pleasure. Particularly for an extracurricular activity.

They can just add another ecnl team like Stars did when they left last year. Ecnl will gladly give another slot in exchange for hammering GDA some more. Problem solved.

I don’t think anyone thinks they will just walk on those teams. I do think that they will just take the best players The fact is that the players in the 03 and 04 teams will have more success than players on the 05 or 02!teams

I talked to one of the Mom’s last night, and she said they will follow Fredy where ever he goes, probably to a composite ECNL team 18/19
