you dont get it. Its not really about giving up HS soccer. Its about believing you have to practice at a higher level an play fewer games. If you buy in to that theory, then HS soccer is a non no. If you dont, then thats fine as well. The issues with what i wrote are obvious

    1. Many DA clubs are not practicing at a higher levle
    2. The talent is not really there to make training/game ratios relevant
    3. The Clubs are parental revenue driven, not Talent development driven

If my kid was a top player with top 20 D1 starter potential, I would advise her to manage her load. Even if that meant giving up HS and training with a trainer during HS season. GDA or no GDA.

All in all, it is a good idea with terrible implementation in an environment where talent is not the driving force.

In a nutshell, its why the GDA will not work.

Well said and totally agree. I think the impetus for doing it was solid (concerns we were slipping as other nation's caught up). But how to go about fixing it, understanding the needs and wants of the talent pool, what clubs needed and how strong ECNL was...all fell short.

That said let's also not forget this wasn't even a consideration for years until the WNT filed their first lawsuit. Then within a few weeks - Look we have DA for girls!

          1. Kids who want HS should choose teams/leagues that are appropriate and allow it
          2. Parents who run to rat kids out are lame

          and most importantly:

          3. Kids/Parents who do choose to break rules should have known already that people in general are TERRIBLE and will always rat them out for their own benefit or just to cause problems

How on earth the parents let their kids break rules and expect that there won't be someone out there dying to drop a dime on them is beyond me. Youth soccer is full of whiners and if you played club soccer for 6-7 years already then you most likely dealt with these people calling the coaches to complain for years. These are the same people who will run to out your kid for playing a HS game, especially if it can help their own situations. How is that a surprise?

And some players with D1 top 20 talent wont even be playing college soccer as it is college and they have other goals to focus on. They want to have an entire league focused on the needs of 2 dozen players and only 1 or2 of them are in the northeast anyway. Misguided.

The entire girls gda is really about getting rid of the ecnl. It is not working all that well but that is the goal. I say make something work for your players. None of them can do anything about this dismal cat fight among the leagues so just try as best you can to make it through. I support any kid that figures something out even if it different from what works for mine.

Support soccer players and aim your fire at the lousy industry responsible for this disaster instead of at the payers.

So much stupidity wrapped up in so few words.

If GDA has the goal of getting rid of ECNL, it will never happen. HS is too big of a draw for some. If they wanted to do that as the goal, they'd allow HS and then it would be a bigger fight. But, their philosophy is to not allow it, and seemingly won't budge.

So, pick the option that best works for you. Don't try to cheat the system then cry about it after.

wrong. they could not allow hs because that is the rule for the boys. if it was not for that, hs would be allowed.

"Force" Were kids tied to a pole and made to play? This is completely voluntary. Don't like the rules, don't play?

Christ...there's people all over the world who are physically forced to do all sorts of despicable acts that would love to have your LI problems. "Forced"?

You've got to be fvckin' kidding me.

Just don't play if you don't like the rules.

You don't need to tolerate anything.

                          Walk away.

Still grasping to understand why that is so difficult.

It is not hard to understand. We disagree. you seem incapable of grasping the possibility that I a have a very different opinion of the situation than you do.

I get it . you support the rule and are happy to abide by it for whatever reason. i am capable of understanding that.

i find the rule be just another in a line of destructive actions taken by us soccer that have hit my players age groups hard and unnecessarily. I am done with it. Probably anyone with an 02 03 04 or 05 player is sick and tired of the chaos.

With a bit of effort you could understand that too. Not agree with it but I think you are capable of understanding the frustration and seeing that not everyone has your same solution to the chaos.

What you continue to fail to grasp is you have an easy solution:

Walk away. Nobody has forced this upon you. There is a rule, you don't like it, so you go in a different direction. Rather simple. Happens in all walks of life.

                              Walk away.

Walk the fvck away. Far, far away.
