Leav it to FA parents to think they are that important that the moste elite national youth soccer league for 9 age groups, cares that much about a 3 year old program with one age group that is very good. rB already took 2 kids and on top of one coach, if 2 more players leave the whole thing becomes a moot point…it’s a house of cards.

Red Bulls also took 3 or 4 of their 2010 players, it didn’t really impact the 2010s and by the look of it they got stronger. Their 2010s played a bunch of MLSN clubs this winter, from what I hear, looks like they done okay despite having a ‘moot point’ as you put it.
I think people on here struggle to wrap their head around that if daddy can’t wear the badge, the kid is a failure and not going anywhere. My son plays for an MLSN club (we have been there since u9), it’s not the competition level that most people think it is on here, which shows they don’t understand the game well but feel free to sound like experts. If my sons team didn’t have MLSN I would still stay, the coaching is good, my kid enjoys going every day and he has made good friends. What happens when he becomes a teenager will be a different story. He is good at the game and he wouldn’t get worse with this group of players if he wasn’t playing in MLSN against some below average competition at times. I would take playing against fanj and some other EDP teams against the long drives to play extremely average teams who think their better because of a status.
some one made a good point earlier, so many teams are getting added to MLSN how is it becoming any stronger than your EDP, ACELA or NEAL leagues! In a couple years time we aren’t even in MLSN groupings with RB, NYCFC and PU, it’s just back to our old u9 EDP flight plus some long drives. Try playing in it, it isn’t all what you guys think it is. My sons happiness is the only priority and it’s why I do it, I couldn’t care a less if his team moved to EDP and got good games along the way because he is a child, plus it would save me half his college fund, traveling is expensive.

BS…no way you’re not an FA parent trying to bluster the argument for FA.

You are writing paragraphs of text defending a club your kid doesn’t play for and knocking his club…really!

You’re also oversimplifying the MLSN league. There are 6.5 teams in NJ and 6 at u15. That’s 120 kids for each age. That’s not as watered down as you think in the most densely populated state in the country and one of the most diverse in regard to soccer playing.

And a lot of it has to do with resources. Many of the top teams only take kids that can afford 3k tuition and the travel. They do not have any opportunities for kids especially at the younger ages unless the kid can pay. Nothing wrong with that however it does mean some talented kids will be dismissed because they cannot keep up with all training that is necessary to compete. I know of kids that have the speed, strength and talent to play MLSNEXT that would not be able to if clubs like ISC did not exist. FA2011 is great team. I would not say the same about the other ages especially 2014s. My sons team has rocked them everytime we played them and everytime we play them the beating is worse. Only reason I bring it up is it doesn’t speak great about their development program as the kids are likely following the same model that the 2011s did, extra personal training, camps, you name they do it. And this is not about asking for a free pass but about basing admittance to clubs that talk big about how they are great at coaching to select and develop players based on talent and not money. In this case a league that’s about increasing access to top competition to all.
FA 2012s just beat the Redbulls 4-2 at their home facility. Agree that 2010 and younger FA has a good program and their teams are successful.

No 2010 player from FA has gone to Red Bulls. Not saying they couldn't, just correcting misinformation. A few kids left and went to various other clubs. FA also absorbed most of the 2010 PSA North Orange team and Coach. A very good team on its own. They became the 2010 Silver team with some other additions. For 2023, they have been creating a "best of" team made up of kids from both Black and Silver for various tournaments and to play MLSN teams, but play as FA Black. Its a very good team.

A 2011 field player and their goalie did go to RB for 2022/2023.

I have heard that the MLSN badge really doesn't matter until coaches are looking to add talent; this doesn't happen until around U15. If true, there are only a few reasons to push to get on an MLSN team. Maybe to secure a spot for when it gets important, although the top clubs all cut, maybe to get higher levels of training, that's subjective or just to get the badge? I think the one thing everyone can agree on is, touches are more important than level of play. So if your kid is a starter, don't trade up if it means they will come off the bench.

Not an fanj parent, and I haven’t defended their club in anny way I was only saying the 2010s are strong, if you are telling me they are not then you need to spend more time watching games or get a better knowledge of soccer before you come on here and try and act like a negative troll. Not said anything else about fanj in my reply?
I never knocked my current club in any way, quite the opposite, I said I liked my current set up that my kid would stay regardless to where they play, so I don’t know what you are trying to do or achieve with this bs reply. My club experience is very good, it’s not my clubs probably that half the competition that we play against is average, my club can’t control that, so you are another one of these trolls trying to create drama on here!

I drive and watch my kid play MLSN every weekend, so what I post is my perspective. The competition of the top few is amazing, the rest is mediocre at best. There are far better teams floating around that would give our team better games. But like every other troll on here, you seem to know better than my own option.

Can we rename this tread FA and start another one for 2011 NJ boys. So I can ignore the FA tread and head to the 2011 NJ tread. I have had enough of reading about folks bitching about FA not having MLSN.

Agreed. No need to keep talking about FA. they have a great team, maybe the best for 2011. They cannot be accepted into MLS next for some reason. They have some really good players that will at some point be wanted by other teams. What else is there to say?

Maybe I am wrong, but does it seem like all these clubs, PDA, TSF, Ironbound, not sure who else, but are they all just like puppets for Red Bulls? Red Bulls take their best, give them scraps and they are just willing to take it.
