I thought they'd have 3 bergen teams and 1 newark team but if they have 4 bergen teams instead (and 1 newark team), I guess that means more minutes for the existing players unless they recruit a ton of new players before the season starts.
3 Bergen teams at 16 kids per team and 1 Newark team at 9 kids does not seem like a lot of playing time. If it’s 4 Bergen teams then it would be 12 per team at Bergen and 9 at Newark. They most likely had too many kids register and have to have 4 teams in Bergen.

16 kids per team would annoy me but it wouldn't shock me either since parents should know that a lot of clubs will carry more kids than needed to make a little extra $ - I wouldn't like 16 but if that meant that most kids played for about half a game, I could live with it.

I really hope Bergen winds up with 4 teams because it means more minutes to go around (hopefully).

Agree that newark has about 9 kids too which makes me think Bergen kids will have to fill in on that team too, which is great for the Bergen kids that get the extra games and minutes.

The club plays to win lol so there's no way playing time will be even for the 6 subs.

God. My son played there when there was still only one 2011 team. Times have changed. A lot of cash "cows" nowadays.

When was that? Even at u9 there was 2 teams at Bergen for 2011 during the 2019/2020 season.

No idea - same deal with the 2011s when they were u8s - CSA had two teams (green and white).

Green was the A team and white was the B team.

I think the green team went to Spain that year for a tournament, which I think is a little odd for 8 year olds.

Cedarstars Bergen 2 or B whatever you want to call it is 2 Season's old. I left a couple of years ago.
My son played 3+ seasons when there was only 1 2011 team.

there has been at least 2 teams at CSA since they were u8.... not sure before that

at U8 - in 2018/2019 the top team was CSA Green and the 2nd team was CSA White
at U9 - in 2019/2020 the top team was CSA Pre Academy and the 2nd team was CSA Green
at u10 in 2020/2021 the top team was CSA Pre-Academy and the 2nd team was Pre-Academy II
at u11 in 2021/2022 the top team was CSA Pre-Academy and the 2nd team was CSA Pre-Academy 2

Agreed - I think the constant name changes were odd but all this is correct.

I guess they went from two Bergen teams in the spring to four teams in the fall - 2 NEAL and 2 EDP teams.

my son is playing for CSA Bergen in the fall and I heard a lot of good and not so good things about club in general and 2011 group specific.

serious question please - for any parents whose son left the 2011 teams, why did you leave? I know things won’t be perfect and winning is prob way more important than real development and equal time but what are the specific negatives I should look out for?

                      thank you

I'm talking before that. I think that 18/19 season that's when they started with the 2 teams for 2011 boys.

My personal choice was , the lack of conditions. It got very crowded, ( too many teams per year) no permanent field availability. Jumping from one place the other every session . Coaching wasn't bad , there's always some bad apples in a club the size of what CSA has become ,but...

Do you mean when the kids were u7? My kid was in that group and the talent there was unbelievable. Coaches were amazing too.

before that they were too young to play games... they were like 5/6 years old... there wasn't 3+ seasons of your son playing as you stated of just 1 team. there was none.

The real issue is that CSA doesn't communicate very well, either by design or lack of giving a sh!t. They constantly move kids around and change the teams/leagues without any notice to parents. I did not experience any issues with crowding or fields, they might move the training around a bit but always delivered on the amount of playing time they sold. What team from CSA will be the #2 NEAL team, all new additions pooling in the two NEAL teams?

I have to wonder if so many people leave b/c they are promised a spot on the #1 team but never really make it there. The teams seems to have had a lot of new faces with declining success, is that a factor of new kids coming in to try and build up rosters for this year and next?
