I really hope Bergen winds up with 4 teams because it means more minutes to go around (hopefully).
Agree that newark has about 9 kids too which makes me think Bergen kids will have to fill in on that team too, which is great for the Bergen kids that get the extra games and minutes.

I thought they'd have 3 bergen teams and 1 newark team but if they have 4 bergen teams instead (and 1 newark team), I guess that means more minutes for the existing players unless they recruit a ton of new players before the season starts.

No idea - same deal with the 2011s when they were u8s - CSA had two teams (green and white).
Green was the A team and white was the B team.
I think the green team went to Spain that year for a tournament, which I think is a little odd for 8 year olds.

My son played 3+ seasons when there was only 1 2011 team.

I guess they went from two Bergen teams in the spring to four teams in the fall - 2 NEAL and 2 EDP teams.

my son is playing for CSA Bergen in the fall and I heard a lot of good and not so good things about club in general and 2011 group specific.
serious question please - for any parents whose son left the 2011 teams, why did you leave? I know things won’t be perfect and winning is prob way more important than real development and equal time but what are the specific negatives I should look out for?
thank you

The real issue is that CSA doesn't communicate very well, either by design or lack of giving a sh!t. They constantly move kids around and change the teams/leagues without any notice to parents. I did not experience any issues with crowding or fields, they might move the training around a bit but always delivered on the amount of playing time they sold. What team from CSA will be the #2 NEAL team, all new additions pooling in the two NEAL teams?
I have to wonder if so many people leave b/c they are promised a spot on the #1 team but never really make it there. The teams seems to have had a lot of new faces with declining success, is that a factor of new kids coming in to try and build up rosters for this year and next?
