Bloomfield intown league at the young ages played both seasons and was getting 120 -130 kids at the K -1st grade level 3-4 years ago and was cheaper option - so some neighboring towns (Nutley, Glen Ridge, Montclair) start kids there. There may be a few kids out of Bloomfield - but they started intown - only one "mercenary" as far as I know.

Most teams at this age are only somewhat successful at building out. I notice more teams trying to teach kids to do more than punt recently like Liverpool, FA, and CSA (not sure about Bloomfield). CSA and FA in particular revert to punting when they are losing and build if they are winning. At least coaches are trying to do more this season. U12 is basically the same. Hope your kid is ready to header away a thousand long balls per game.

I'm sorry but without Bloomfields CM who's from New York, they wouldn't win a game. He's always the best player on the field.

His presence in the midfield certainly helps to control and disrupt, but they have a lot of ways to win. And enough talent around around pitch to compete regardless.

Also, it is more difficult now as The FA, CSA Bergen, Red Bulls, Liverpool NJ others switch and swap players between "teams" at this age group. The team at JFF is looking to have an emergency meeting this week. We may hear something from them by week's end.

Not taking anything away from the other boys on the team, they are fast and skilled no doubt. But their CM controls and distributes so they get him the ball, its not punt and run at all; its also not building from the back.
