Or so the MLS teams can take a look at the the players while they're young to see who they want ha

would stay at exact same level. If the top say 20 kids were all at Red Bull they would dominate every game they play vs other 2011s and that doesn’t happen.
That's the problem. They just try and take the best and most physical players....what do they call them...alphas? Buy that is not how to build a team and given that they do not develop players....it sucks to think you have to go this route at some point

I think most can agree the U.S. system doesn't develop players well...it is too short-term based results. But the parents are the real root of the problem because they will move little Johnny or question the coach as soon as wins arent happening. We treat our kids sports team like little pro teams that we root for and complain about like we would the Yankees or Red Bulls (pro) . I think this whole site shows how unhinged some parents are. Sure it's not all of us but it's hard to get sucked in, especially when our kid's teams are losing players because of these kinds of things . Our best players are not developed in the U.S. and that says it all.

Agreed. And you can see this in the men and women's national teams...and especially the Red Bulls...if you watch their game vs a European based club...vast difference...so that is what sucks...we are stuck in this system...something needs to change...not the parents...but really the leagues

yah, look at Red Bulls most successful academy player Tyler Adams. I love him for the usmnt and super important player but reality is he is a fast physical hard tackler that can cover a lot of ground and thats why he has done well. But no way can he compete with the playmaking cdms like the elite pro teams and national teams have. Obviously passing and vision was not what was developed at red Bulls for him .. but just to be a destroyer

And worse...if you watch red bulls today or their youth teams play...it's basically the same thing

My kid is 2011, played EDP flight 2 last year and the number of teams at this level that still do goalie/defenders boot the ball and let the fast kid with the big foot get to it and score was surprising. Why are those parents satisfied with that kind of play, because they don't understand soccer and/or just see the goals and wins? If my kids played on a team like that I would leave in a heartbeat regardless of Ws. I hope they are exposed in 11v11

Respectfully, the problem with EDP Flight 2 last year with the transition from 9v9 to 11v11 is a ton of teams were already done with EDP (playing in NEAL/ACELA) or playing up 11v11 early. There was only 1 team in EDP 2 last year that is even ranked inside the top 30 teams from NJ at 2011 age group. The bulk of EDP 2 last year was teams in the 30-45 range for the state. At that level of play you will absolutely see lots of teams dump and chase. They don't know any better.

Why are PDA still playing ECRL?

It is a good division for a 3rd team to play.

Ecrl is still better than FA’s EDP.

But FA is still better than any PDA team...so there is that...regardless of league

Understood you were trying to take a jab at FA, but make it believable to be funny. The ECRL is a large step below the USYS EDP top flight. It consists of PDAs 3rd team, STAs 2nd team, Match Fits 2nd team. That is EDP 4 AT BEST, not EDP 1. The ECRL is the biggest joke of a league I could ever imagine. They force, average at best, teams to commit to insane travel for their level of play. Those kids would be better suited playing for their town and finding a trainer to help them try and improve to possibly make their HS teams.

The fact you are pitching HS soccer as legit makes me wonder if you understand that EDP at 11v11 is rec level basically.
