All the top kids did not play in their correct (normal) positions. CB played Midfield, GK played Midfield for the 1st half (not sure how he was punting from a wide midfield position) CM played Defense, CDM played wide midfield. While I don’t agree with why that was done, it is what happened and you can’t pretend it didn’t when you can watch the video and see.
I still think Red Bull South is the strongest team, but it is very close with FA and CSA Bergen. The Red Bull team just presses like lunatics and actually yell out “press” while doing it. Whole team pressing leads to turnovers when kids are 10 and learning to play possession style soccer and then Red Bull scores off of the turnovers. Nothing fancy or pretty or good build up. Just another gimmick like a big fast strong team who plays long ball with stronger faster kids. obviously the Red Bull coaches also think this is their top team if they requested to have them moved into the Blue flight instead of the red flight they played in during the fall.
Red Bull south started the year slow as the new kids learned to play the team press style and their early season results weren’t great but they improved as the season went on. 2-2 draw with SJEB Red, 2-1 win over Match Fit Blue, only a 3-1 win over CSA Bergens 2nd team. They figured it out and played well late in the fall. They did struggle and barely beat a weak Red Bull North team 3-2 who also presses, just not as strong, to win the weaker EDP fall tournament instead of playing in the stronger EDP cup Fall tournament.

If the RB do what they did last year kids will progressively be cut every other week. That stress can weigh on an 11yr old. Who knows how that will translate on the field.
Is the south team comprised of the kids who will remain? If not the majority of them will be in TSF next year, making tsf a new team in the mix of top teams.

I saw them play against SJEB and Manhattan Kickers and they play out of the back with good quick passing, no punting by their goalie, and use their speed to their advantage. They are a very fast quick passing team.

Long story short. The South boys are going to win the Turf easily. They will also show other teams at top flight who is the best team in the state.

They will have top competition in the League with other teams. It wasn’t even a walk in the park for them in the red flight. Will see what kind of fish after they swim with the sharks.

Weirdest discussion I've seen. Why are you trying to compete with a team that usually plays their best kids 1, 2, etc. years up and that literally is a pathway to a pro team? Do people not actually understand the pyramid structure? They are a gigantic developer and aggregator of the best talent they can find. I guess because this is still ulittle people are not understanding where your kid's teams are actually, especially when compared to the wider area/region.

Yes they are a gigantic developer of talent but that talent come is mostly from their scouts in the area who are always looking for players at every age.

That’s where the path to pro and the pyramid applies. Right now they have the best kids because of the shear numbers they attract at camps and cattle call tryouts.

You are exactly right about the volume of kids they attract and how many will still be on the team come u15. What I don't get are the parents on here acting like they are just another team/club they are competing with. Almost all of them would accept a position for their kid to play on their preacademy and 99.9% would accept an academy slot. Yes, the competition is ridiculous and a tad unfair as these are essentially little kids, but that's why they start with 3 teams and drill down to the best group + any outside kids they find. I guess it would be awesome to beat them, but having had multiple friends with kids go through both the preacademy and academy programs, they've told me that winning is not emphasized at all by the coaches. In fact, they force them to play out of the back, not punt, try things tactically that are new, etc. They also are always pushing kids up through the ages to put them in uncomfortable situations to help them develop. Everyone loves winning (especially against a club like RB), but to me, I don't think it's an apples to apples comparison.

From what I have seen/read the chances of being cut by RB's is high for a variety of reasons. I really believe that RB's being free is a huge draw as well, after all CSA, TSF etc all play in the same conf so the only reasons one might want to go there is 1 The kid might go pro -or- 2 It's free
Yes, being free is a huge draw. There are definitely a variety of reasons for being cut, but from what I understand from talking to parents from the teams, the kids are given every opportunity to improve and show why they should be on the rosters. There really isn't any team politics involved or anything like that because the coaches are removed from the parents. I'm not saying cuts aren't harsh or seem unfair, but they are churning through to get the best kids to put into the academy and beyond.
