This is the last place you will get an honest opinion. What the previous person suggested is the best solution. Go check out some training sessions and some games. That goes for any club your considering. What works for you or interests you may not be the same as the next parent. Good luck in your search!

lmao it's like they shall not be moved - Alliance Soccer League Fall 2019 7-0-1, EDP Fall 2020 2-5, EDP Spring 2021 3-4, EDP Fall 2021 1-8, EDP Spring 2022 ??

Not sure why people constantly complain about STA and AS JR. I watched both numerous times and they are well trained. The fact they haven’t been wining now doesn’t mean anything. I would rather my son lose than just only relying on Long balls or parking the bus style. Encourage attacking football and allow the boys the opportunity to develop.

People always have to complain and hate. It’s boring without the negative comments.
AS Junior teaches the game the right way. For most people it’s not possible to believe it’s really not always about wining. Go attend a AS Junior training session or watch how the boys move the ball and you will see they are being developed.
STA has a good program but they rely on being in the top flight to recruit top kids versus developing. Because they are a larger club that need the numbers they have to attract players and being in the Top flight allows for that.

You should always go see a few training sessions before joining any team...that is sound advice....however...the thing that is worrisome about both STA and AS JUNIOR ELITE is that they both used to be top flight teams that could compete with top flight teams. STA kept is close in many games last season so I guess they have that. But AS JUNIOR ELITE was blown out in every game. Now AS used to be a top flight team that could compete against other top flight teams. If their training is so good...what has happened? That is a BIG question I would be asking myself. It does not make sense...you are a top flight team...you have good training...and you drop every year???? Something is wrong and concerning!!!!! Every year it seems they get worse...

It could be due to the fact that EDP falls apart next year and teams are going to new leagues. Kids who want to play in certain leagues need to try and get on those teams now to secure a spot for next year. Just a theory, not stating fact...

STA doesn't train their kids please don't compare what that coach does compared to AS Jr. STA is purely a kick and run team, I hear their sessions look more like rugby than soccer.

If that is true, why is AS gotten worse over the years? Shouldn't they have gotten better?

AS 09s and 2010s are being recruited by MLS Academies lol even their 12s have been approached by MLS scouts. Not one player from STA 2011 has been developed properly to be sought after the MLs teams.

Again, your just another parent concerned about wins and losses at age 9 & 10 year olds.
Educated people, parents and of course licensed soccer coaches/trainers look for how a team/players actually play and move the ball versus if they are winning by 5 goals or losing by 5 goals.
why does AS Junior have such a great/high percentage of players moving on to MLS Academies??
they must be doing something right over there with the training!!!

Agreed! I would rather be AS JR than being on Bloomfield, Liverpool or Football academy. Who play a defensive game and rely on long balls. Everyone else from the top flight builds out of the back. Let them enjoy the short lived celebrations. When 11 V. 11 kicks in, the game will change.

                            Completely false

Another added benefit if a significant reduction of a non-contact injury at a young age
                            Completely true

Classic 2011 banter. AS is a nice little club. A good stepping stone to a real feeder club like a CSA, TSF or PDA. After pre-academy the MLS clubs you are referring to are going to filter kids through the network.

STA is one of the original clubs in NJ. How can you compare the 2? It’s not fair to either club. STA is always in soccerwire top 100 and sends players to top HS programs and colleges every year. AS sends kids to Teaneck junior high.

Let the story of AS play out before you announce them as the next great club. Most likely they look to be in the same path as FA…a great building block program that has a major roadblock at U12 and players will disperse. I can almost guarantee that some of those players will end up at STA and go on to play at some very good HS etc. there is nothing wrong with that either.

                                For all the misinformed…
AS JR is not like FA or Liverpool! ASJR stops training after U12.
there program and development system is designed to pass kids off to Academies at the U13 age group.
there is no road block it’s called the pathway!
