So I guess the MLS academies taking these players don’t care about goal scorers?

MLS Academies are pulling kids from every team in the state. Lets not pretend like AS Juniors is some pipeline to get there anymore so than every other club.

I am not an AS parent but my older sons used to play a lot against AS teams. Maybe the AS 2011 program is not good. But overall it is a solid program. They have only one coach (used to coach at Red Bulls), a very good one and well-respected in the coaching circle. He trains the kids in the right way. This (plus the lack of field) is also why the program cannot expand and has to close beyond U12. I do know many of their kids moved to CSA and TSF after U12 and the coach works very hard to find places for his payers (maybe not with TSF now cause I heard the coach has some problems with TSF now). I know this because some AS families are friends of my family.

All the AS support on this forum is to try to get better players to think about coming to them. That is the only way they will improve. The coach may be good and have good training but something is wrong because they are getting worse not better, so to fix this they will need players trained by other teams to come and help them improve.

judge a club by the results all the teams collectively do.
Everyone has a negative comment about another team.
bloomfiled gets ****ted in because they are a town team, FA gets shifted on because there is no pathway past U12, STA gets ****ted on because they request to play in a top flight and lose every game, ASJR gets ****ted on because they train on a small field, CSA gets ****ted on because they won’t play in any tournaments etc.

Everyone gets ****ted on here because the forum is a collection of parents who project their disappointments with their own child’s situation on others. It just goes to show you how many people are trying to live their own dreams through their son. Combine that with the misery lives company aspect and you get the 2011 forum.

Respectfully disagree - the conversation is now about these clubs but at over 216,500 the 2011 forum is the most viewed by far. I'd take this thread over the BS MFS and politics stuff any day.

100% anything is better than MFS and PDA wildlife out there. It’s good to see what’s happening. Educational at times, harsh at times, truthful at times and can be misleading at times. Take it/ good with the bad and then make your own decisions.

All true, but every once in a while a nugget of truth seeps through...you just have to figure out what is true and what is fiction.

What’s an illusion? Sit down and pay attention to the way specific clubs operate. Some clubs take good kids and development them to be great and other clubs only look to already take the great developed kids!
if your only focused on winning at U11 and want to bash the teams that actually care to develop let’s see where your child ends up after this long race.

A club is only as good as the collection of its coaches. A small club like AS does a nice job. It’s a shame to bash them. It looks like the one coach does a good job with young kids. When parents make outlandish claims like all the kids go to MLS academies, they open themselves up to the avalanche of haters.

it’s funny any club that ever had a kid move on the RB pre-academy always calls itself a “feeder club”. Take AS for what it is a face value, a young club that develops some good players. If they continue at this rate I’m sure a bigger club will scoop them up and absorb them.

Also keep into account a lot of these kids at this age are playing well for one particular coach. It’s the same argument as FA when’re the kids are developed by one coach for 5 years. What is going to happen when they have to play for a different coach, especially in a program like a RB where there is little or no interaction between parents and coaches. We all have heard the stories how the FA parents run that program. There is nothing wrong with it since FA is trying to make a buck. But it does muddy the waters as to which players gets what playing time etc.

Are there clubs/academies besides Redbulls, NYCFC and Union Philly at the U13 age that will take a player and offer them FREE tuition based off of skill level?? Or is ALL kids pay to play??

My experience is that they are all pay to play many do offer assistance based on need. But it’s on you to come with the funds. Most kids at that age 12 and above start developing rapidly making it easier to see if you should continue to fund it.

You should always go see a few training sessions before joining any team...that is sound advice....however...the thing that is worrisome about both STA and AS JUNIOR ELITE is that they both used to be top flight teams that could compete with top flight teams. STA kept is close in many games last season so I guess they have that. But AS JUNIOR ELITE was blown out in every game. Now AS used to be a top flight team that could compete against other top flight teams. If their training is so good...what has happened? That is a BIG question I would be asking myself. It does not make sense...you are a top flight team...you have good training...and you drop every year???? Something is wrong and concerning!!!!! Every year it seems they get worse...

Half of the team is 2012, I think.

I agree, "misery loves company!" That's what this forum is all about, such negativity. I would hope that anyone with half a brain in their head has to know that you cannot get unbiased, accurate information from the TS forum.
