I think not listing standings or scores on the EDP site has several reaosns.
The league will first & foremeost point to "developement vs winning" for the u8-u10 groups.
Players will not develop if all coaches do is prepare certain players to win games.
This would then in theory remove or lessen player skill building vs team record building.
I get it...are you relaying on a handful of players to win, or developing each player?

The town travel leagues are also 50/50 in posting records on their sites as MOSA & NCSA do but SJSL & MJYSA do not.

I think that as EDP gets better at flighting futures teams, the teams themselves will get better by playing equal or better competition. I think promotion and relegation to different flights is as important as limiting travel. I like the North/Central/South set up in 2020.

Personally I have always seen that parents care mor about standings than 7-10 year olds

I can agree with that logic, to a point. Why can't a coach prepare to win and develop players at the same time? I really don't care about standing, but my son does. It's a HUGE motivator for him which has been removed.

To me it feels more and more like the developing notion of catering to the lowest denominator at the sacrifice of the higher denominators. We chose EDP for development via a competitive league; the notion of not competing seems to smack in the face of competitive based concept.

Final thought - please post scores if you have them...

He cares because you obviously do, most kids care more about the approval and reinforcement they get from their trainers and parents. Rather than discussing scores/goals/wins etc, have him evaluate how he and the team did relative to previous matches. That is where you get true improvement and development, not from tracking wins.

This is a very big assumption you make, and it is false. I only care about winning when it comes to maintaining interest. I recently had a conversation with another parent where I said "I really think just above 500 is a good season b/c they learn to win and lose"

So when I say my son cares about standings and the wins, it is him asking me to look up scores. Why can't he care, should he not? Should you be assuming that it I am focused more on wins than my kids development? The answer is obviously 'no'

Everyone deserves their own opinion ,nobody deserves to be judged.

I'm calling BS on this. I've coached kids from age 3 to 15 and the 3 year olds know when they win and lose. They know when they're a good team and when they're ****e. Not posting the scores is just stupid.

Also, any coach who's worth his salt can coach to win and develop an entire team, not just the stars. Standings or not, there will still be coaches trying to win and not developing anyone. You don't need standings to pick those coaches out. Go to a training and / or watch a game and you'll know in 5 minutes.

Why is STA so high? I don't know anything about them - just curious.

I bet Ironbound will end up at the bottom of the A flight - I think they lost a few of their better players to Red Bull Academy.

Is the CSA Bergen White team a separate team from the A team or do they share players? Just curious.

                        Liverpool will beat Ironbound easily.

                        Didn't Torpedoes play last weekend?

Finally, where do you get results other than on this board? Seems like you know a lot of results.

The CSA II team does not share players with the A team.

This whole no score/no standings situation is ridiculous, it's as if we are playing a series of scrimmages.

s to the Red Bulls, they just never played in the top flight since they started this is their first time playing with the big boys.

                                I agree.

I get it if a league with mostly rec or town teams decided to not post scores of younger age groups but since EDP is supposed to be for better teams, I don't like the no scores rule.
