But in many cases the now B team was part of the team that accrued the points
Example: old A team with the points has a few girls move up to DA to join newcomers. The rest/majority stay with the now B team. Tell me why they shouldn’t keep the points? I’m far from an STA fan but on this one, they would not be incorrect. Now if the whole team became DA that’s a different thing.

I’m shocked it took this long for someone to rely with a factual breakdown.

If last year’s USYS Team (at any age) won X amount of Gotsoccer points, those points carry over to this year’s USYS team. The coach is the same, so are a lot of the same players. They are the same team, but with some different players. How hard is that to grasp?

I will tell you who, those clubs who feed parents the Gotsoccer points and who enter every competition under the sun to get more points. It’s a sham of a system which again parents listen or look for.

Ecnl will always be the top league. Gal will be lower. How low remains to be seen.

It literally can't be decent. Most of the top DA clubs are in ECNL. For NJ specifically, there are now 4 instead of 3 ECNL rosters for kids to be on. I would expect movement from many former DA rosters to ECNL, especially at younger ages. Long term, GAL won't be able to attract top talent if they can't show college coaches coming to showcases. Also, look at the teams that were let in like the ukies. Lastly, look at the travel for the Mid-Atlantic group. How is that sustainable?

Well my kid is a happy and she is coming into her own, so no sweat here. We'll just see how it goes. It could end up being great or sputter. Either way we have choices. why is everybody getting their panties in a bunch about a league you're not in? I guess you have an axe to grind with STA.. Not my fight, but I am enjoying the banter and half truths. Very very entertaining!

I'm the one who made the GAL post. I don't care about STA, different leagues, gotsoccer points, or whatever else people are arguing about. You put your kid in the best situation for their own development full stop.

The reason I wrote my post is to at least say the line from STA, CSA, and SJEB about GAL being amazing is completely made up. Make your own decision based on your own kid, but at least do it with eyes wide open instead of marketing that makes you feel better

That's awesome! Many kids aren't in that great of a situation where they love their coach and the players on their team as well as their parents liking the training and not minding the travel. There are many former DA parents+players who are being fed a lot of bs about GAL and are staying because they don't know what to do and just want to see what happens.
