I'm guessing a lot of SJEB or SJEB Rush parents or coaches on this thread. Way to much love for a club that really doesn't get talked about much. My biggest question is this....IF they had such great training then why do their B team suck so bad? Sure they may have a player or 3 that are technically good but as a whole they are bad....real bad, across the board. That means they are either not training the B teams or they cherry pick the best players around and ride them till the leave or someone better comes along. I could understand up north why a 2nd team could be bad since there are far more options but not so many options in SJ.

Their B teams are actually very skilled and always improving. You have to remember they are playing against A-teams that are only focused on winning and not development.

But of course you want the best training for the high ceiling kids as well. That’s what they get at sjeb. You’re right though, not at the recruiting clubs.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostDevelopment gets so overblown on these boards. Every kid has a ceiling, good training environments helps get them there. However, the best coach in the world can’t take a kid with a low ceiling (based on athletic ability, vision etc) and turn them into a player. Having good teams is about attracting the kids with the most potential/talent. The Clubs that do that the best tend to have the most success.

Players are home grown from early age and move on to play at high level colleges on a regular basis and in high numbers. This new league will only accelerate these figures which are quite impressive already.
ECNLs college placement numbers are hard to argue with. Over 50% of the league goes D1. Of course kids from other leagues are talented and go on to play in college, but ECNL is the clearest path. Plenty of ways to get there, ECNL is just a good option if it works for you.
Girls ECNL Class of 2019: 1,633
Total Players Playing Collegiate Soccer: 1,156
Division I: 847
Division II, III, NAIA + Other: 309
Undecided: 462

Yes but those are national figures. As far as local, many many other good options.

all these players have a ceiling when it comes to development. It’s based on athleticism, speed, quickness, quick hand to eye motion & balance. These all attribute to your level of development playing sports. The business model of ECNL has been “Less is better than more” to attract these type of athletes who have these high level skills to one club. I have seen ECNL teams at ECNL Showcases who have this high level of athleticism along with the skills & technical abilities. The speed of play is just that much better than any other league.

Parents,
This is just the excuse of ecnl teams not to focus on training and development. Players need development at every level even the top athletes. If you think your club is failing in giving proper technical training then consider sjeb. I’m just saying consider it if that’s what you’re thinking.
