Let's be honest, the writing is on the wall. For 3 years, all we heard about GDA was "give it a chance", "it's a brand new league", "in 5 years GDA will be the crystal clear top platform for girls", blah, blah, blah, blah.

Now the leftover clubs that can't get into ECNL form a new league and spin it as the next big thing and people are all supposed to drink the kool-aid and nod our heads? Come on, now.

The left over clubs ??? Lmao !!! The only club in New Jersey that ecnl let in was another pda knock off. All the clubs are left out . You sound extremely ignorant with that blah blah blah speech .

Maybe you've had to much of the kool-aid and should lay off of it for awhile so you can have a clear head.

My kid loved the PDP & NCE programs! To this day I credit them with raising her game...

They are good programs but if your girl is very stong, she will not necessarily be challenged by the level of play outside of some of the select events. And it is very expensive. This is a common issue is youth soccer. it is a business and the market is not as big at all as all these programs hope.

FC Westchester NY posted a letter to their customers saying that they have been invited to join the MLS youth league, but that a decision has not yet been made on which league they will join for 2020-2021. This confirms MLS is reaching out to clubs outside the MLS team run system.

There have been plenty of USYS NL teams along the way that were by and large stronger than their ECNL counterparts of the same age. i mean its either that or they just want to play where they can (whether due to logistics, no tryouts, who knows) and see how it works out and try to move later on? I doubt anyone is running around like "MY KID IS THE GREATEST AND THIS IS THE GREATEST LEAGUE"

Probably not in public, but there are a lot of immature replies on here about GAL recently. I'm in the let's wait and see camp, but according to the apologists it's the second coming. People need to grow up and be rationale about the league and it's apparent position.

Welp, we are probably stuck there because we have been told there's no tryouts on the horizon at ECNL teams due to fields being shiut down. So we're there for at least a little while until we can get in front of other clubs and, more importantly, figure out how we'd get our daughter to practices. Our GA club, where we have been a few years, works from a commute/timing point of view since we're working and have other kids. We have no illusions that ECNL is the top dog, wish our club could have been invited in from GDA but thats clearly not happening so for now its hope for the best, prepare to move if possible later.

Not sure if this is the right post for this comment but I think a lot of you are either crazy or just not looking at the TRUE value of any league. Listen my kid plays in the ECNL and for our family its a GREAT LEAGUE and offer all the things that we want for our family. Now let's take my last statement as a sole experience by just one family (meaning mine). I can assume we all are in this together and all in this in hopes that our kids get to the NEXT LEVEL and what that level is is solely up to what an INDIVIDUAL family is looking for. For most of us we are looking to our kids play this sport in high-school and college and if beyond that great if not okay.

Lets look at most of the arguments that are happening for what they are. What league is the BEST....who has the BEST PLAYERS....who is TRAVELLING how far and so on. I really dare any of you to look at "ANY" college roster. I don't care if it TOP 10, TOP 25, TOP 1000. Pick any school and I will bet any one of you that kids are coming from all different leagues. NOT JUST ECNL (which I love lol) NOT DA (formally known) which I also love just not as much as the ECNL. You have players that are from regular town teams, and just Regional Leagues.

Folks get it together colleges could give a rats butt what league your kid plays in. They only care if THEY CAN PLAY and IF THEY CAN HELP THEIR PROGRAM. That is a fact and anyone that says different is flat out LYING to your face. Go look at any teams roster and I tell you its not team that has kids just from the DA or ECNL I don't care what team you pick.

I say that to say to the parents that have chosen to have their child or children to participate in the GAL league good luck and tell your child to KEEP BALLING OUT because colleges will still find her and trust me THEY DON'T RECRUIT "TEAMS" they RECRUIT players. AND FOR THOSE THAT SAY or ASK if its my opinion, I will say nope its a FACT!!!! Go check any team and call me out if its not a FACT.

All of the noise just makes things so difficult, and ive learned to have zero trust in any youth sports entity that earns their living this way. The biggest thing i pray for is that my kid doesnt become disillusioned and decide to step away. She puts in hours of training everyday, even still, but this whole situation of DA collapsing and being away from the team is definitely having an impact. Sucks for all of us, i suppose.

Nice suggestion. I looked at Princeton University Women's Team roster. There are currently 19 players on it:
15 played ECNL
1 played DA
3 - either insufficient information or neither ECNL nor DA.

Two of the 19 players went to high school in NJ. Both played for PDA.
