Not every worthy. Some good players at still at GAL. Just not as many.

So these are kids that were anyway planning to move to ECNL a few months before the DA announcement happened. Which is why they would have been training with PDA. The shutdown of DA was known only after the lockdown started.

Not to mention in many areas (not necessarily in Metro NYC, but in Northeast and other Regions) there are plenty of "ECNL-Worthy" players not playing in the league due to there being no club close enough to get to. It's a legit issue. I had to pass on an offer for my daughter to play for a Mass ECNL club because I couldn't make the travel work. Perfectly happy in the "other league", and would be in ECNL as well if there was a realistic chance of it.
Eventually some other GAL New England teams will be let into ECNL. Give it time.

I'd expect that PDA ECNL coaches kept track of the best DA players in the area. If one of those players emails you looking for a spot, then you would consider that. Also, I'm guessing players run across all different coaches during their travels so they might have already been seen.

Doubtful. While from a pure soccer perspective it's a no-brainer, ECNL doesn't have a great track record of moving the game forward.

What they do, they do it very successfully. But there is no incentive for them to expand so they won't.

Thankyou for sharing your expectations and guesswork. Now I understand where you are coming from.

You are wrong. They just added how many clubs to ECNL and ECNLR? More at the right time. Has to be the right fit for ECNL. It makes sense to add another New England team or two. NJ is too crowed with WC covering North Jersey and PDA central and south. STA and CSA are just not a fit for ECNL.

Of course it will survive but will look like a shadow of its former self...too many departures to sustain quality....would expect the coaches to start jumping ship soon too.

one more PDA ECNL team for the shore would round it out nicely.

I wouldn't math CSA with MF....Delco maybe Bucks sure but MF....That honor goes to LISC.

Na, they would be pushed down to the bench or ECRL, Plenty of low level ECRL talent running around though.

You make it sound as most of the top GDA players didnt originally come from ECNL in the first place!

IMO the Hudson Valley has a gap in an area with income, population density, etc.. I would say NYSC/FCW is the best fit in terms of location and they both do have facilities in place and club infrastructure but whether either can run a girls program is up for debate. Being in the middle between CFC and World Class it makes sense. NJ doesnt need any more clubs, NY is underserved, LI aside. WC may balk but losing a few Westchester/Putnam players wouldnt kill them.

Low level and ECRL go hand in hand....and the league is getting worse with Toms River PDA being added....have you seen their 06 and 07 teams???
