College scouting list is great, most importantly if it includes the institution of interest to your player. I was poking fun at using national team dreams to make decisions about soccer, not the colleges.

Csa 04

Lengthier list with the same level of colleges )
Da is alive and well . Don’t believe the ecnl propaganda. This is all about getting your daughter seen and giving them an opportunity to open a door at a university that would be harder to
Open without the soccer component.
Otherwise there is no reason to spend all the time we invest in practice and travel or all the money on registration and travel.

[QUOTE=Unregistered;2478092]I think choosing a soccer club based on presence of us scouts is a dumb reason and you think it is a fine reason. We can agree to disagree.[/QUOTE
The college coaches are the draw. The national team coaches are a nice added benefit for the kids dreams.

And I will argue as a collective the NJ, PA, MD GDA teams are better than ECNL. I do not know enough about the NY and New England teams to make the same statement.

The difference between teams is not necessarily as big. For instance, in the last 2 years ,everyone would bash NPL or NL teams. Its was easy, because ECNL teams would not cross paths with those teams. Now that SUSA made ECNL - they do well in ECNL, frequently better than Match Fit or World Class. In the meantime SSS, PSA and STA would frequently outplay SUSA in NPL - yet somehow they are not at the same level? ECNL's strength is its ability to draw in college coaches - and now GDA is doing it.

PDA may be great but pda is of no use to a player outside of their area ( or budget for that matter).
We should care a little about the strength of other clubs in our leagues from other areas since these are the teams our kids will be playing against for next few years. But your point is well taken... worry about your own first!
