How good is the ranking app?

My kids is playing in the EDP Fall cup this weekend in the U14 2nd division. A guy on our team thinks the ranking app is very good at predicting scores. I figured it was better with better teams, so I whet and looked at the top division (I was impressed that so many teams are willing to play other top teams from a different league). So this is what it is predicting for the top group

sorry if your life is pathetic. I am a 52 year old retired trader and I enjoy doing things like this until my kids leave the nest and my wife and I can travel more. So sad that people like you cant understand why other people's lives do not suck as much as theirs do. Maybe you should have made better choices in your life. What I do not understand is what problem you have we me spending 20 minutes setting this up but not with you spending 5 minutes wondering about it. After all, 5 minutes more at work for you is probably another $1.25 in your paycheck

College coaches don’t care how many Stars you have or for your “ranking”. They care to see you in person. Only in football and basketball are those rankings legit because they have the money to properly evaluate those top recruits all over the country numerous of times with very little bias by reporters. In soccer, college coaches don’t care and don’t use it as a determining factor to recruit you. They know those rankings or write ups by “evaluation” services are absolutely false 90% of time. “Scouts” simply taking a lucky guess and saying something positive about you to get you to pay for their services. Even more embarrassing when the evaluation from your club coach, who actually sees you in practice and games, doesn’t match what you post from these ranking or player write up services. Have you seen any of those services give a bad review on a recruit? No, I didn’t think so. In fact when you pay for them your ranking increases and you get more stars ⭐️ and positive reviews.

to respod to the OP.. in my experience for my kids, the app has been highly accurate. it way predict a 2-1 win and it might actually end up 3-2 but id guess in 2 years its been right 90% of the time.

there Are teams with history dating back to 2021 when they were 7v7 and 9v9. And it’s hard to knock those teams out of their current spot because of all of the data they have.

Specially when teams are playing in crappy tournaments and pounding teams 10-0.

It uses data from the last year only for the rankings.

It does account for toughness of schedule in the ranking, which is why FA ends up so high because of their Super Copa participation. I find it’s pretty accurate but it can be more helpful to look at league results.
