If town teams start to get into ECNL or ECRL then that’s going to be major competition for the academies. Most people don’t look to move to academies until later on. Now kids may stay within a town if they are playing on the same platform as the academies and those towns will attract good players who want to play ECNL/RL and maybe don’t have the funds to pay for academies.

good teams doesnt matter for ECNL as much as other factors. I would rank in order below. ECNL knows that once a club gets a badge, players flock. Other aspects are more important.

- Do you have exceptional infrastructure (training complexes - indoor and outdoor)
- Do you have a rigorous development plan for athletes
- Financial stability - demonstrated reserves
- Quality of coaching - what level of coaching licenses? Daddy coaches dont cut it
- Consistency of product / on field success across levels - have you been able to and will you be able to compete at the ECNL level across age groups

If that were true then STA, SJEB, CSA Monmouth, and Ukies would all be members.

ECRL is kind of stupid because you play the same teams every season!

You do the same thing in GA, ECNL, and USYS D1/D2.

Teams move in and out of D1/D2, and there is a bunch of movement between d1 and d2, but the key difference is that 2009 D1 and 2010 D1 will have different teams (since ALL clubs have some years better than other years) and that is why team v team is better than club v club
