He left for a multitude of reasons “personally” to my knowledge, but also SJEB cares nothing about development and is all about money u8-u11 . Those years are revenue streams for the older GA teams. In fact SJEB doesn’t even care about the boys side at all. It wasn’t until recently when they could no longer maintain numbers on the boys side that they made strides to get into ECNL RL.

On the girls side between U8-U11 they just make sure that their top teams win. They do this by starting in SJSL and winning every year at U8, followed by competing EDP in the local region. They’ll target very weak tournaments at these early ages in order to dominate in hopes to recruit better players through early success. After U11 they are more than likely loaded with athletes but under developed soccer players. Obviously this varies from year to year but this is the template for the majority.

Matt is better suited in a program like Futboltech which is (at the current time) designed to develop talent and to set them
on a path for success elsewhere by u11-u12. He is a true developing coach.

Are there really non compete agreements in youth soccer? Crazy to think a kid or family couldn't follow a coach they like

Which 2013 team broke up? They've got so many teams that it is hard to keep track - Red, Black, Colonial, South?

I understand noncompetes, I’m surprised a youth soccer club is going to court to enforce one. Coaches leave for other clubs all the time. Have other clubs done this?

NJ have laws that ban most noncompetes. If a kid follows a coach on their own accord (and wasnt actively solicited), there is nothing a club can do.

True, but it looks shady af when the coach and entire team switch clubs. Especially when FT already had a team.

There are 4 remaining players from last years team of 13.

2 went to Penn Fusion , 1 to Real , 1 to PDA, 1 to Marlton, 1 to Sporting De, 1 got kicked off the team , 1 got moved to the B team and 1 moved up to the 2012 Red because she refused to be coached by the 2013s coach.

                          I would call that a break up…

Not really. Happens more than you think. If you’re a good coach, people will want to follow on their own. Just ask Wacker how many followed him to the Ukies when he left PSC. Only difference is PSC isn’t crying like a baby.

The 2013 red girls team. Most players left or moved up to the 2012 team

This reaction by the club seems extreme. Will be interesting to see how it plays out and if this sets the standard for more clubs in the future.
