That's why we have weight classes in boxing you can say Floyd Mayweather is the best pound for pound boxer in the world but you wouldn't put him up against a good mike Tyson in his prime because he would probably kill him. I also don't agree with the current deal where they just get half of the whole pot combined. The two teams should get a percentage of what they bring in period.

In the beginning the women weren't complaining about the pay regarding the WC payout. The original complaint was about the payout for the money made on the exhibition games which in 2015-207 was considerably different. When the lawyers got involved they got greedy and started asking for equal payout from all competitions which I think is not fair considering your point that the men's WC and women's WC bring in different kind of money. To the point made in the other post nobody is willing to pay to watch a second tier MLS next team but the USWNT does sell out stadiums so they should be paid accordingly and that wasn't the case.

It should all be equal in terms of benefits etc but I believe all of the men have health insurance through their pro teams while the women do not. That needed to be fixed. Hotel and travel should also be equal. There was also a debate about grass and turf field access.
But just because the women win more doesn't mean they necessarily should be paid more. The compensation is a combination of the purse + FIFA + other advertising and sponsorship revenues. The men's WC pays more when you add in the FIFA and marketing. They don't win the purse because, well, they don't win. But the purse for winning the men's championship is 4x that of the women. Again, more money in men's soccer = bigger prize and payments. If you want it based solely in performance thrn you have to remove FIFA and marketing.
FWIW the women won't win the cup this round nor the next at this rate. So how does the "they win more" justify them getting paid as much as the men?

The way for women to generate more money is to attack the NWSL structure. The game needs investors who buy into the prospect of returns in the future, not virtue signallers who think paying 23 women more = equality. The gap in earnings between a top player in the NWSL who is not on the WNT is as large as it has ever been. That is no helping. Lets talk about how we increase revenue and lets not ignore the elephant in the room. Men are currently subsidizing the game all over the world. Stop bashing them and collaborate. The USWNT are the most entitled group of female team athletes in the world. The US women's basketball team is far more dominant on the international stage. The total salary bill for the league is 12 MM dollars. I think Alex Morgan makes that in a year and a half.

We know because of the Britney Grier that some WNBA players play outside the US so they can make more $. Dome US players are doing the same. How can owners dramatically increase pay for the lesser named players if the numbers don't justify it? Afterall, if they don't make something they will fold up shop/won't invest

I agree on the subsidies in Europe but don't you think that clubs are invested in women's soccer because they think they can become profitable? Barcelona vs Chelsea game last year broke record for a women's game in Europe with 72k in attendance. Seems that you are more bothered by how much some of these women are making than why they think they deserve it.

Rapino et. al. created their own poop show and then sued for it.
