2013’s championship bracket was insane this weekend. Old Line #1 MD team destroys McLean #1 VA team 5-0, then they lose 6-0 to Pittsburgh #1 PA team, and then Pittsburgh loses 4-0 to CSA Monmouth #1 NJ team in the final.

Also quick question. Is Deptford really that good? Im wondering because a MD team called Baltimore Union played Deptford and East Greenwich the past 2 weeks and lost 5-1 to Deptford and 2-1 to East Greenwich. Are they that good?

Deptford is an unchallenged team. SJSL always has a habit of putting out a pretty strong team or two of multi sport athletes. The only results that stand out to me that a decent amount of teams have played are Old Bridge (w8-5)and Kingsway (w2-1). They are probably a solid EDP 2 team and were bracketed way too low in the fall. They’ll compete well with low EDP1 to EDP2 teams.

Pittsburgh is better than Penn Fusion. Look at the games in their Jefferson cup groups..

And for Deptford they will win Prem 2 South this season. They’ll lose their top players to top local teams like Real, SJEB, PDA South in 1-2 seasons.

Exactly. Penn Fusion won against CSA on Saturday. They won first half, and CSA had the momentum in the second half but couldn't tie it up before the final whistle. It was a good game. 10 year old kids are inconsistent.

Deptford will be playing better teams this season, they were flighted too low in the Fall.

I agree with the inconsistency.

Deptford will now actually play competition this season after dominating Prem 4. I expect them to win their league but not easily like last season. And like I said previous post that eventually the top players will go to their top local academies in the future seasons.

There are some good teams in their bracket this weekend at the EDP Spring classic including Cedar, Boca, and Highland. Should be a good barometer for them.

All the teams in that top bracket is good. I feel like it’s going to be close with CSA Monmouth B and Deptford but id say CSA Monmouth B wins.
