Yes, most parents have not gone through this. One thing that must be said to them is- even if little Johnny & Jane are great now, once puberty hits all bets are off. The small kid that is a liability now, becomes the big, fast superstar. The superstar now, becomes an average player and quits because he can't handle being just ok. Most of the best players are bigger and more mature than the other players. Watch the 30/30 ESPN Documentary "Little Big Men" about the Kirkland, WA LL Word Champs. Listen to Cody Webster talk about how good he was due to being bigger than everyone else. He said he was an average player when he got older because everyone caught up. This will happen to all your little superstars. There are only so many true prodigies in the world. An the prodigies usually have a drive and obsession that 99.9% of other kids don't have. Just relax, don't worry about the wins/losses, keep developing your kids skills and have fun. I have a rule to never talk about the game once we get in our car. Just enjoy the ride, wherever it takes you!

Hahahaha! Lacey and FA went all of the way to Supercopa to play recreational teams? Tara probably just used it to try to recruit when she can’t even beat local teams and Lacey just goes to any tournament good or bad.

CSA Lacey 2013G played the easiest team in their bracket/group today and their most difficult competition tomorrow will be FC Dallas which will most likely be a win but as they move on to Semi-Finals they are going to matchup against top teams such as Dallas Texans, DKSC, and PAMA. FA 2012’s Silver just lost 9-1 to a team from Texas. And for FA 2012’s Black they won 9-0 against the easiest team in their bracket/group but tomorrow they are going to have a difficult game against RSL. 2012’s bracket has competition too.

I feel the early developers i.e the-tall-for-their-age kids have it much harder than the average or short statured kids in the sport of soccer during puberty. They tall ones are growing at an alarming pace, stride is changing, hips are widening, all food goes into growing taller and not necessarily muscular. The shorter kids have a lower center of gravity, have faster acceleration and don't have to constantly second guess their stride. However, the pendulum swings towards the tall kids side about 2 years after they are done growing because they have grown some muscle mass (not just bone mass) and there body is now acquainted with it's dimensions - they have moved out of the 'daddy long legs' phase of growth and are more physically dominant. All the true soccer prodigies - Maradona, Messi were short statured as kids and adults. Messi was even on growth hormone injections as he was so tiny as a kid. The tall ones - CR7, Lewendowski had to work much harder to get to their level - they were never considered soccer prodigies.

Have any of you actually sat down to talk with your kid about the pressure they feel playing EDP, Academy or higher? Most kids are afraid to tell their parents about the pressure because they think the parents will get mad. Have the kid talk to a therapist about the sports pressure and I guarantee 99% of them will say it is too much! They will say the coaches and mostly parents put too much pressure on them and they just want to go play and have fun. If the kid loves soccer they will work at it at home and that is what separates the great player from the good players: Self motivation and work ethic. WAKE UP!!!!!!!1
