all of the D1 commitments only played at STA for 1/2 season. Non of which actually developed at STA

Someone else posted before, just enjoy your kids and this time they are playing sports, and I'll add, "just shut up" because when it is all over for most of us after high school you will wish you enjoyed it more. Seriously, just shut up and enjoy your kids and stop with all the self serving bulls**t.
It's sad actually. This original intend of this post is to inform people not only for the changes at STA but the soccer world in general. Being a good coach used to be considered someone that can actually develop a team and make a name for themselves. Now it's how best can they market one or two players (that probably train elsewhere) that have talent. How to make the most money for the business. So yes i agree with you, enjoy the game with your child. We all know Kelly is not worth it, STA is not worth it. Better to be on a local team with a good coach than a ECNL or GA with a horrible coach.

Someone sent me this link and I am horrified as a parent that this site exists and people comment on 9, 10, and 11-year-olds. It brings the insane sideline parents to life, the lowest of the low of humanity.

You know you stand next to parents on the sidelines who actively participate on this forum

The main thing is that no one actually comments on kids specifically. The commentary is on the leagues and the clubs, which are for-profit entities (regardless of their phony tax designations).

I tired of reading this shi t. Maybe these girls feel like the have to go to STA to be noticed so they make the move. How many of their friends stayed at their EDP club and ended up going to a school in D3? It helps when coaches are recruiting that they've seen your team in the past. When you play for a noname team coaches will be skeptical.

Looking at STA’s Instagram account, they’ve announced GA commitments for their U19’s to the below schools. I’m not sure how long these girls have played at the club, but there are some very good academic and athletic commitments in there.

                      College of NJ (2)
                      Rhode Island
                      Old Dominion

I think for the U19 group, this is about right. Its the last of the the combo group of mostly shaun cryers girls. There are a couple of Tims girls in here as well. See Yale and naval academy. A good solid grouping of schools. The issue is the class of 2024. These are all STA players- home grown, that came after the DA closed down. I would pay very close attention to determine if STA/GA is providing an adequate platform by seeing what happens to this class. Then judge accordingly.

Why? Is this a PDA vs STA debate? I don’t think anyone is arguing that PDA isn’t the stronger club.

Someone did claim that all of STA’s (few) D1 commits were only there for half a season. I don’t claim to know much about all the girls playing on their current U19 roster, but I think their college commitments for that class are absolutely impressive, both from an academic and soccer standpoint. And I’m sure all of them have been at the club for considerably longer than 1/2 a season.

Who cares???!!!! If you do that's wonderful. Enjoy it for your kid. If someone else wants their kid to play wherever and go to a d3 that's their business.

Keep in mind the majority of the help comes from their High School and not fully from the club. Just like you mentioned you are not sure how long these girls have played at the club. I know a few players that arrived mid-season to a new club and the club is taking full credit when the players have worked very hard with their school and varsity coach. Some of the clubs that take full credit do not provide anything for the players. Do your research ..does the club host the following: College ID Clinic sessions, Showcases, College Coach attendance etc..
