I guess it’s what people want to assume is going on. Promoting on social media, checking the time, timing the drills. I see John Newman answering calls in the middle of his session. That doesn’t mean they’re bad or not paying attention—just like at work when you check your phone.

Not true at all. I have three kids that play high level soccer and none of their coaches has a cell phone out during practice. It’s unprofessional and gives the very wrong message that practices aren’t important.

I'd fire my kid's coach if they were on their phone during training.

Not my two daughter’s experience. If that’s the worst someone can say is that.. coaches could be talking about the session… were these coaches full time? Sounds like strange feedback

That’s a great point. I’ve heard PSA pay female coaches less than the males. Unfortunately when you have such terrible leadership in JN, OH, and DM you end up with pretty grumpy and sour employees. PSA is not only a terrible place to have your kids but the work environment isn’t good for anyone.

I heard the same. A lot of these female coaches are getting paid Pennies

I’ve seen John Newman not only take phone calls but sit on the bench and have a full on phone conversation on the bench during sessions. PSA is a joke and it starts with leadership.

It’s interesting….you’d personally fire them huh?

I’d like you to take note in your next big time corporate job meeting and see how many people sitting around the table check their phone or whisper to the person next to them. We’re talking about soccer. YOUTH soccer. Are you going to fire the doctor that walks into the room with his phone? Get over it.

So you think it’s acceptable for a corporate employee to sit on their phone while they are supposed to be working? Or a doctor who’s posting on Facebook while examining you? Don’t be stupid. This is a job and coaches need to act professionally. End of story.

I'd like to see this person fire the CEO of the company. That will be fun to watch lol.

This is well said. Sounds like a parents kid got cut from this place or didn't play much. They're talking about a part time, unpaid coach on a 9v9 team having a cell phone? Give me a break.

If you think that's unprofessional esp.in comparison to all the youth coaching stories we hear ... you're a moron.

No, they’re talking about a paid coach at an academy where they pay over $3,000 a year to have their kid professionally trained.

I'm a parent at this club. I have a daughter and son on each side. I've seen cell phones used by practically every coach. It's not unprofessional, it's just someone being a human.
