Evidence about the black man killed in Rochester was kept by the police and they didn't inform the mayor.

The rare incidents like those set the suspicious tone for anything else because cops and politicians lie/protect each other. Families looking for answers shouldn't have to fight so hard to get them.

Also, could we just do a better job hiring better cops? Cities go cheap in salaries then end up paying out millions in settlements.

Totally agree on hiring better cops and making the job in general a more attractive profession. Nothing undermines that more than moves to reduce funding along with endless attacks through media outlets. What person in their right mind would want to be a cop in the current environment?

Rare... you think these are rare? Many are only found out several months after the fact. If all cops had body cameras that could not be turned off at the "right moment" and function more like a black box on a plane. we would perhaps truly know the incidence of murders and other crimes (planting drugs, excessive violence, sexual abuse, etc). Even in that situation, self-defense and union protection will always prevail until policing (learn its history going back to slavery). Who knew that the GOP supported unions as much as they do... wait they only support the FOP union?
