I mean, really, this is not a big deal. We have 50,000 people apparently die every year from pneumonia. What's an extra few hundred or thousand from this disease? No big deal, I guess, unless it kills your elderly relative. At that point you say at least it wasn't pneumonia. Thank you Donnie.
The regulation Trump is blaming for the hold up is the requirement , in place long before Obama, that the FDA must review and authorize any test kits deployed from public or private labs.

This of course had nothing to do with delays but by eliminating FDA review pretty much anyone can put a covid-19 test out there without FDA review .

What could go wrong ? A lot

Biden and obama had eight years to to fight Pneumonia and failed about 400,000 dead americans and their relatives....but nothing was done. (i also, don't recall republicans blaming every little thing that happens durring a democratic presidents term). what is next? a hang nail epidemic? lets blame the POTUS!!!! gtfoh, you are all pathetic discarded and useless snowflakes, insignificant.
Title Con is losing it - claiming Obama should have done something about pneumonia? You do realize there is a vaccine for it but many people don't git it right? And that MANY different illnesses can cause pneumonia as a secondary infection? Read some real data from another thread.

Apply the same rate of infection for the flu to Covid so the same number of cases 35.5M infected. But with Covid 10% need to be hospitalized (that's 3.5 M hospitalizations) and using a low figure of 1.5% mortality that's 532,500 deaths.

Agreed, this is panic worthy BUT this isn't the flu either. Keep aware of developments, have some basics on hand in case you get sick or are in a vulnerable group. Look in on the elderly who may be afraid to go out. The hospitalization rate worries me the most. God forbid you have an accident or need emergency surgery.

The viral sequences from china have been available for two months now. Test kits should have been in the que, ready to go. Worst case scenario we ended up not needing them and we spent some money preparing.

See that's what pandemics need - preparation. If you're reacting once it's started you're already way too late. Trump got rid of the pandemic response team two years ago and slashed budgets and staffing at the CDC. He can't grasp basic science, isn't listening to the experts, and keeps spewing misinformation. He 100% can be blamed for ineptitude and making a situation much worse than it needed to be.

Watch though. More money will be spent bailing out “critical” industries than what an effective public health response would have cost

But that kind of welfare is fine with the cons. I refer interested readers to look up “disaster capitalism “ and Naomi Klein’s “shock doctrine” so you can prepare for the changes coming on some fronts

Should we tell that Covid-19 infections are covered under the term “viral pneumonia.” And that “other” corona viruses like those that cause the common cold (I think there are 4 basic strains that circle the globe year round ) and flu viruses all cause pneumonia ? And that bacterial agents do as well? Although someone pointed out we have a vaccine for the latter .....

please clarify the term "scientific study"

so the USA is to study a virus that is generated in CHINA? please explain in your infinate wisdom how this is done? .....see what i mean, you are only using this strictly as propoganda against the POTUS!!!!

Lets put another perspective on this.

Over 37,000 people die in road crashes each year
An additional 2.35 million are injured or disabled
Over 1,600 children under 15 years of age die each year
Nearly 8,000 people are killed in crashes involving drivers ages 16-20
Road crashes cost the U.S. $230.6 billion per year, or an average of $820 per person
Road crashes are the single greatest annual cause of death of healthy U.S. citizens traveling abroad.

Why do we not have funding and or "scientific study" so we can stop this? it must be a simple enough thing to do since these deaths are completely man made under under human control.....You really think as a feeble insignificant person you can contend with nature?

The corona virus will not even come close to claiming 37000 people this year (in the US 50,000 will die from pneumonia this year. (roughly 1.2 million people have died during 24 years of obama, clinton and bush administrations alone) so you are saying these presidents did not have funding and or your bs "scientific study"????

Liberals are so stupid cant see a forest for all the trees....you are all so ready to smell a whif of ass....you are all so ready to hear what TRUMP has to say, you wait patiently for the whif....so stupid.

                        Speaking of stupid ^^^^^^

anything else you'd like to blame Obama for? Meanwhile, as cases grow exponentially each day, Kudlow - a fake economic advisor and former Fox talking bobble head - is telling reporters it's "contained".

All of those issues are studied on a regular basis in an effort to improve public health and safety.
