That’s a failure of MAGA. Remember that Bolton and Trump disbanded the pandemic team that Obama assembled.
sorry that is BS...obama created a "pandemic team" because it was necessary at the time.

Do you really expect to keep a "pandemic team" on payroll for multiple years ehile there is no pandemic? does not seam logical at all.

Obviously if you are watching any news right now all federal, state and local governments are working together to help combat and minimize this potential threat.

Obviously "Pandemic teams" are created on an as needed basis.

I first wanted to point out that you didn’t address my concerns about the province of BC alone having more resources available to it than ALL of MAGA country combined so you are conceding that point out of the box.

As far as keeping the pandemic team ...yes! Remember that SARS (another coronavirus !) was first In class, originating in animals and leaping to humans ....just like ....COVID-19.....and yes ! Keeping experts on these things at all
Times increases the lead time to develop the tests we are clearly so deficient with still.

WA state announced they developed their own test. CDC approved it. Shorten a diagnostic time but Can only do 200 tests a day right now.

You can deny all you want but the botched federal response with these test kits is obviously hurting us

Let Trump keep repeating there will be a vaccine in two months. In November a PAC as can remind the voters we STILL don’t have a vaccine eight months after Donnie owned responsibility for having it out in two months.

His child like tendency to lie outrageously when put on the spot can be harnessed nicely

Typical Trump lickspittle response. The previous posts adhered strictly to facts in the public sphere and when asked to simply contend with them the little ❄️ has a little MAGAt fit.

PS the person calling others the kind of names you are calling others, bolded above, is widely taken as the “hater.” Please keep up all your good work

In February, the C.D.C. rolled out a three-step diagnostic test and distributed testing kits — each of which could run about 800 tests — to state and local health laboratories. But some of the components of the diagnostic kits were flawed, and produced inconclusive results.

A three-step replacement was promised but never arrived; the agency has not fully explained why, except to say that there was a manufacturing defect. As a result, diagnostic testing was only conducted at the agency’s labs in Atlanta.

The C.D.C. eventually rolled out a two-step replacement and permitted a few laboratories, where the kits had been working, to continue using their tests. But those with only one working component of the test still could not diagnose patients on their own.

Getting results from the C.D.C. took days, however, and in any event the criteria for testing were strict — among them, the patient must have had recent travel to China or contact with someone known to be infected.

Doctors nationwide complained of a bottleneck, both because of the restrictive test criteria and because of the agency’s limited testing capacity. The agency said it had the capacity to test about 400 specimens a day.

The test criteria were “too stringent, and people aren’t getting tested,” said Lauren M. Sauer, an assistant professor of emergency medicine at Johns Hopkins Medicine.

“I’ve heard from so many colleagues that tests were turned down,” she added.

By the end of last week, as the first cases of possible community transmission began to emerge in California and Washington State, the C.D.C. broadened the number of patients who qualified for testing to include travelers returning from places like South Korea and Italy, and hospitalized patients who were very ill and whose symptoms could not be otherwise explained.

“We have been really frustrated, because one of the things that is a hallmark of public health labs is that we are usually ‘ready, set, go,’ and here we were — ‘ready, set, wait’,” said Scott Becker, chief executive of the Association of Public Health Laboratories.

                  September 2018

NBC News host Chuck Todd advanced a proposition in both his broadcast and a print article that Fox News was the source of negative opinion toward media. In a September 3 article written for The Atlantic Chuck Todd said it was time to "fight back." Two days later on September 5, Michael Chadwick Fry, a mentally-disturbed man with a lengthy criminal history who took Todd's words to heart, rammed a pickup truck into the studio building of Dallas Fox station KDFW-TV several times and, after getting out of his truck, went into an unhinged screaming rant about treason before he was subsequently arrested and taken into custody by Dallas police several minutes later.

Another violent leftwing terror attack: Wyoming GOP office set on fire.

Farzad Fazeli was arrested and charged with felony assault, criminal threats, brandishing a weapon and possession of a switchblade knife after attempting to stab Rudy Peters, the Republican opponent of Democrat Rep. Eric Swalwell.

A leftist identifying himself on Twitter as "DREAMSTAR" threatened a mass shooting during MAGA rally at Trump Hotel in Washington D.C. The Twitter account on which the threat was made was subsequently deleted.

Antifa chapter of Washington DC sends threatening messages via Twitter to a federal elected official. The threatening tweet was later deleted after it went public.

In Toronto, left-wing pro-abortion protester and liberal scumbag Jordan Hunt kicked female pro-life protester Marie-Claire Bissonnette during a heated debate about abortion, then transparently claimed he was trying to "kick (her) phone" before he cowardly ran away. After video of the assault went viral, Hunt was subsequently fired from his job as a hairdresser and was arrested for this and another assault at a different pro-life protest on August 2.

Half a point emergency rate cut and DOW down 400 nonetheless. So I don’t think a rate cut is going to cure what is wrong .

But maybe the Fed sees something ominous

Wasn’t he crowing about Trump’s RCP average rising as high as -4.9 last week? It’s already back to -5.6 as Rasmussen has gone from +2 to -6 VERY quickly.

What concerns me is whether or not it was judicious to cut rates this morning. The market bounced back yesterday, then the Fed responds with a big rate cut and people assume the Fed is pressing the corona virus panic button

I think at this point even someone as dumb as you realizes this is precisely why you keep a pandemic team on staff. Outbreaks can crop up literally in just a few days, a few weeks at the longest.

Despite what Trump thinks, you can't just call a temp agency as say "Send me some experts, now"

Of course it won't do anything. Nor will a tax cut. People are worried about the virus, getting sick, what might happen to their jobs if they get sick or their company furloughs them. They're not going to go to the movies or fly or refinance their mortgage until things start to look better.

But Trump just saved several millions more on his corporate interest payments, as he does every time rates go down

Especially considering the sequences have been available to scientists for weeks, since early January. There's simply no excuse for not being on this faster. Best case scenario you do the work and you don't need it. Yet a Trump fan boy says Trump was justified in eliminating the pandemic response team because there were no pandemics at the time.
