Some of the newly-elected Democratic women in Massachusetts say they had to work against their own party to secure their wins.

State Reps.-elect Nika Elugardo and Liz Miranda and Suffolk County District Attorney-elect Rachael Rollins, speaking on a panel on WGBH’s “Basic Black” last Friday, detailed how the party highlighted white candidates in its literature and boosted their primary election opponents as they discussed their winning campaign strategies.

Elugardo went so far as to call the party “straight-up racist.”

“What needs to be said in a straight forward way is that the Democratic Party is straight-up racist,” Elugardo told host Callie Crossley. “The structural racism that we’re talking about dismantling is in the party, and this is one of the reasons why it’s frustrating to be standing up on a stage at a Democratic Party behind speeches being made about Republicans dividing the country.”

Despite its liberal reputation MA has plenty of racists. Every state does, some just more so than others. The GOP doesn't have all the racists, but definitely has the majority of them.

I'd never vote for an actual racist. You did. Racists don't survive in the Democratic party. They thrive in the GOP.

You have no idea who I voted for. But, let's not switch this up.

Your state, and elected officials from YOUR party, call you a racist.

Bob Woodward, the Pulitzer Prize-winning Watergate journalist whose recent book, "Fear," described chaotic infighting at the White House, on Tuesday criticized CNN for filing a lawsuit against the Trump administration and charged that too many media figures "have become emotionally unhinged."

Speaking at the Global Financial Leadership Conference in Naples, Florida, Woodward said "the remedy [isn’t suing the administration]. ... It’s more serious reporting about what he’s doing.” NBC reporter Dylan Byers first flagged Woodward's comments.

CNN filed a federal lawsuit against the Trump administration on Tuesday demanding that the White House restore the press credential of star reporter Jim Acosta. The administration suspended Acosta's "hard pass," which provided expedited access to the White House grounds, after he broke protocol by refusing to surrender his microphone during a press conference last week.

Acosta continued to pepper Trump with a barrage of declarative statements and questions -- at times talking over Trump -- until the president stepped away from the podium, even though reporters are typically afforded just one follow-up.

“In the news media there has been an emotional reaction to Trump,” Woodward said. “Too many people for Trump or against Trump have become emotionally unhinged about this.”

I agree at times Acosta can be overly pushy. But banning him isn't the solution. Just ignore him. That would be the mature thing to do. But maturity isn't in Trump's wheelhouse. And funny that you defend Woodward here but not when his book came out.

I'm not defending him at all. Where did you see that? I'm chuckling at the angst people are under when yet another person gives an alternative view that the Left doesn't agree with (cite: Dershowitz).

As for Acosta, it would be fine to just ignore him. But, he stands there, won't pass the mike, and dominates every press conference he's in. Frankly, it's selfish. Judging by his propensity to talk over every female reporter, sexist too.

Don't give him the mic. It really is that simple. Not every reporter gets a chance to ask questions at those news conferences.

That's been tried; he just stands there like a child and shouts his questions.

How liberal of you: Don't punish the offender, punish someone for not enabling it.
