    From the Arizona Farm Bureau

    - Arizona ranks second in the U.S. in head lettuce, leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, cauliflower and broccoli production.
    - Yuma, Arizona is the winter lettuce capital of the world.
    - Nationally, Arizona ranks second in the production of lemons, third in tangerine production.
    - Apple growers over the last 5 or 6 years average close to 20 million pounds per year.
    - Arizona has a $12.4 billion agricultural industry.

Arizona weather plays an important role in allowing Arizona to supply the nation with winter vegetables otherwise unavailable in most areas of the country.
In fact, in Arizona farmers can be planting and/or harvesting every month of the year!

I'm old enought to remember Bork, who was AWFUL (remeber Bush got his next pick confirmed) but even Bork got advanced through the judiciary committee and got a vote as I recall on the Senate floor.

So please tell us what history set The precedent for THIS.

In addition they have used other techniques and options to get their way. Obama's entire two terms have been full of his end-a - rounds Congress regarding the ACA and the EPA. That's just at the top of the list. His meddling with HUD may start a new tidal wave of disruption in the housing market. You toss off all these things, mile wide and not even a millimeter deep and act as if it has something to say about the Supreme Court issue. It's doesn't. Obama mortally wounded you and your party and its previous gig, I understand the lashing out I just hope some adults come forward soon over there
How about in the interest of clarity, we discuss the original issue if and when you RESPOND to one of my posts. If you are the guy who Said he NEVER would again well congratulates on showing some flexibility. But if you want to talk about HUD, ACA, EPA, feel free to initiate a coherent point on any of those and maybe someone will engage you about those things.

The Constitution is clear. There isn't any time frame , there aren't any added particulars to bring up. In this case it is just tough luck for the Dems...see you next time.
I agree. I'm not complaining. I'm just pointing out the weakness. They promised NO MEETINGS and here we see purple state senators will have meetings. I'm actually hoping they screw this pooch as long as they possibly can. I don't want them to approve this guy. He'll send the court on certain law and order issues and I don't want to see that.

No olive branch lame duck approval for this guy. Lose senate and D elected president we get the court we should have had last thirty years, one that better reflects where the country is at right now.

Obama's pick is playing the plight of the R's like a violin. I said years ago he would break the Republican Party. Feeling like I was o to something early.

Translation, as long as it is good for my political views, it is allowed and encouraged, when it works against me I oppose it. In other words our dear leader is an shameless Hypocrite!
Wait a. Minute.....did alito get hearings....a vote? Did every d march in lockstep against him? Even when they voted for him 97-0 previously.

You are as uncomfortable and weak discussing this as your leadership. Going to be a big mess. Key ayotte gonna lose to Hassan over this. Purple state r senators already have the numbers and they know this is lethal.

Good luck with this. I think it's going to hang like an albatross around necks but you think it will lead to a glorious victory. Time will tell. But I'm pretty relaxed about my position got to tell you.

for starters blocking Eisenhower, then look at Chuck Schumer . That should keep you busy.
We can go on to blocking other lower Court picks, plenty there to choose from.

I really don't understand what you are talking about. Full sentences please with subjects and verbs clearly.

I say you, mcan you point to the democrats obstructing a republican nomination to the Supreme Court in a similar manner?

I note that the right has been complaining about howBork was mistreated for thirty years. Fine. Equivalence says that they advance nominee from comity to hearing then do their jobs and vote. Vote merrick or who, ever down and live with the vote like the democrats have the Bork vote.

That's what one does when one has some spine.

The other issue is this notion that "may confirm during lame duck session"

They tell us "let the American people decide" but if democrats win they are already talking about reversing themselves and saying "uh uh we are now going to decide anyway"

Do I have this wrong? Can someone please explain this to me and show me how this isn't the most cynical hypocrisy and disrespect of the electorate imaginable.

Simply incoherent. R senators peeling off as we speak to meet with Merick. So R's already been pushed off their hard line by their political better.....Obama.

Obama's going to win this one like most. The R fault lines already appearing

At least He nominated Souter first.

                  Forgive me....that memory delights me.

Ys, why would we want to enforce we don't like and could keep us from maintaining power?

This from the same party whining about a Supreme Court nomination and whether Republicans are following the law.

Arpaio, just another white racist who is dearly beloved by the Cons. Trump should select him as his running mate.

enforcing the flaw = racism; got it.

Obama yammering on today about it again. Says there isn't a reason for it.
Hey Mr. Constitutional Scholar, it was an essential part of the " selling" of the Constitution to the States. There was such a fear of a " King like President " , that's the way it has to be with the advice an consent of Congress.

Man, those Founding Fathers were brilliant. Over 200 years after they put his all together, we have had a President that has gone around Congress and the will of the people time and time again. Brilliant I say. We should be forever thankful to them. We should be doubling down on teaching about them to children in school and leaving out plenty of other fill.

And just another ignorant Con who is Oblivious to the lawsuit filed against Arpaio by the U.S. Dept. of Justice.

A lawsuit the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to settle.
