Absolutely. Much to their chagrin all of the purified preparation or synthetic cannabinoids theyve synthesized don't work as well as the real thing. 85 active ingredients and it's looking more and more like you can't tease one out put it In a pill and get as much success.

They want it illegal and at same time they all have development projects using it. Only drugs we are allowed are those they tell us we can have.

I am no angel and dabbled with pot MANY YEARS ago but it didn't do anything other than make me forget chord changes, lyrics, stops and starts etc. As for alcohol? You THINK you play better but you really don't.

I guess some musicians can play high as a kite and ON anything but I think after a time that this can't be sustained.

My wife has remarked that when I am listening to music that I get a look on my face that is like I am on drugs. I guess some of us are wired differently.

I'd take a bet here that the vast majority were exposed to alcohol prior to marijuana.

FYI alcohol does most of its work via the GABA neurotransmitter system. Same system that benzodiapines like klonopin, Ativan, Valium and others tickle.

Receptor systems for option agonsists are well characterized.

Marijuana (active ingredients) acts via a completely different neurotransmitter system. It has been firmly established that there are NO receptors in parts of the brain that control respiratory and cardiac function. Thats why there will never be a fatal overdose of marijuana. Ever. No receptors. People might lose balance and fall etc but there cannot be a death through direct action of the active ingredients. Wish that were so for alcohol, opiates, and benzos. Each one can croak you or fry your brain permanently and in combination worse.

Stoking the mythology that marijuana rather than alcohol is the "gateway" here is absurd. Everyone who became addicted to opiates probably tried milk if not alcohol.

Takes a little more to prove causality.

And please don't spout anymore of what the dea tells us. I thought you wanted to reduce the size off govt, # of federal workers etc. dea should be first to go. Aren't they trying to protect their jobs and budget? How effective have they been.....not. Time to try something new.

Cujo, I've said it before and I'll say it again. You are an idiot.

Being aware that our power grid is under threat doesn't mean waking up in "abject fear" like liberals do if their neighbor owns a gun (and btw did you read about the college professor that made a cop who was taking her class leave because he came to class in uniform which made her "uncomfortable"?). But you better hope the government is doing everything in their power to keep it secure.

"A quasi-governmental U.S. electric industry group last week advised members to review network defenses following reports that 80,000 customers of a Western Ukraine utility lost power for six hours following a cyber attack.

The Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center, or E-ISAC, urged members to "do a better job" at implementing multiple layers of defense against potential cyber attacks, saying the incident at Ukraine's Prykarpattyaoblenergo electricity provider appeared to be the result of a "coordinated effort by a malicious actor."

The nine-page confidential document, reviewed by Reuters, did not identify deficiencies in the U.S. grid that could lead to similar attacks.

Security experts said businesses in many sectors were closely following the Ukraine incident because it was a watershed event: the first known cyber attack to take down an electric grid. It was also one of just a handful of known cyber attacks that have damaged any kind of physical infrastructure."

"Revelations earlier last week that hackers linked to Russia attacked and took down the Ukrainian power grid are bringing to light once again major threats to the American power grid.

Snipers opened fire on an electrical substation supporting the power grid in April, 2013, near Silicon Valley, California. Substations are critical links in the power grid which make it possible for electricity to move long distances. It took utility workers 27 days to make repairs and successfully reactivate the substation. No one has been arrested or charged for this crime.

"SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) — Security researcher Brian Wallace was on the trail of hackers who had snatched a California university's housing files when he stumbled into a larger nightmare: Cyberattackers had opened a pathway into the networks running the United States power grid.

Digital clues pointed to Iranian hackers. And Wallace found that they had already taken passwords, as well as engineering drawings of dozens of power plants, at least one with the title "Mission Critical." The drawings were so detailed that experts say skilled attackers could have used them, along with other tools and malicious code, to knock out electricity flowing to millions of homes.

              http://bigstory.ap.org/article/c8d53...-foreign-hacks

"About once every four days, part of the nation's power grid — a system whose failure could leave millions in the dark — is struck by a cyber or physical attack, a USA TODAY analysis of federal energy records finds.

Although the repeated security breaches have never resulted in the type of cascading outage that swept across the Northeast in 2003, they have sharpened concerns about vulnerabilities in the electric system. A widespread outage lasting even a few days could disable devices ranging from ATMs to cellphones to traffic lights, and could threaten lives if heating, air conditioning and health care systems exhaust their backup power supplies.

Some experts and officials fear the rash of smaller-scale incidents may point to broader security problems, raising questions about what can be done to safeguard the electrical grid from an attack that could leave millions without power for days or weeks, with potentially devastating consequences."

              http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2...erts/24892471/

"Practically speaking, an adversary is going to go after our civilian infrastructure first," former National Security Agency and U.S. Cyber Command chief Keith Alexander said during a hearing last fall. "We're seeing that in some of the things going on today. Take down the power grid and the financial sector and everybody's going to forget about these problems."

One 2013 report from then-Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) and now-Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) warned that the "electric grid is the target of numerous and daily cyber-attacks."

But up until the Ukraine incident, researchers hadn't identified a time when hackers caused a blackout. The details of that event are still trickling out, but the emerging consensus is that the blackouts were part of a coordinated digital attack on the local power grid.

In isolation, that may not pose any more of a risk than when animals or bad weather take out the power, according to Cross. What worries some officials, he said, is that hacks against the power grid could become another tool a nation-state might use to attack a country's infrastructure as part of a larger assault."

              https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...-than-hackers/

Those are just a few of the recent reports on the problem.

The facts I presented indicate that we should abolish alcohol again rather than carry on this jihad against marijuana. Based on the science we have the most absurd drug and alcohol policy imagine able.

Great legacy. Once upon a time hemp growers and timber people vied for supplying paper. Timber guys got Washington, D.C. To put them on scale for them. That's why this draconian policy exists.

Let's not talk about cost of those incarcerated for simple marijuana possession.

Car about vets? What's been shown effective for PTSD?

Anyone want to talk about seizure disorders in children and need for medical legalization nationwide TODAY we can go there.

I will bet my entire net worth against yours that I am not "perspective" does that sound like I'm not confident. But I guess you won't attempt to collect because you are afraid of me as you've said here before. Like all the big stron republicans the most macho one is one with most fear. With equity in the house, cash, retirement.....it's a decent piece of change.ndont think you are so rich you could sneer at it.

So big man.....you opened your mouth. If you think you are correct collect.....or how about I just bet you.....$5000. $10000 I'll take as much action as you have spine to back up your claims.

Now everyone gets to see what you are made of. Leaf it to a progressive to provide a definitive path to answers while the wankers like ex lax just keep wanking.

For calling a lying blowhard out to just step up and easily prove his foolish, idiotic comments?

Put some money up. People around here seem to know cujo and perspective right.....as in meat world know them. Fine.

I'd like to enlist them in this little exercise. Let's call it local nutter has no clothes.

The nutter has asserted that I, me, moi, tampax, Teehee man, the professor is one and the same with perspective.

I've said I'll take that action, any you put up. I'd be happy to share my winnings equally with cujo and perspective if they will merely facilitate this excercise. This way ex lax doesn't have to take the giant crap in his pants that would happen if we had to occupy same space. Fine. I'll play. As a referee everyone seems to know who cujo is (but me I mean maybe if I saw him I'd say oh, he officiated one of my sons games). I'll provide whatever documentation to him necessary to establish I am not perspective. Folks out there seem to know who perspective is.

Be discreet don't out anyone publicly but I've made my pitch. I'll show my hand to cujo he seems sane enough to me. We can get this done and earn a few bucks. I'll donate mine to a charity of my choice so long as ex lax puts up a few sheckles. Let's crowd source this and get it done.

Ex lax maybe you would like to concede now. What a dope. You aren't very capable.

Just file this under "ex lax can never back up a thing he states"
