The U.S. Supreme Court refused to halt a novel and sweeping lawsuit pressed by children and teenagers seeking to force the federal government to take steps against climate change.
Rejecting a Trump administration request, the high court let the case proceed toward a trial that’s scheduled for later this year. The administration sought to block further progress on the three-year-old Oregon case until a federal trial judge acts on the government’s bid to throw out the lawsuit.

McCaskill is facing a tough re-election and she’s had a particularly rough week after it was reported that businesses tied to her husband had been awarded $131 million in federal contracts since she took office in 2007.
Of course there is not connection one to the other.
Bwahahaha!

Wanna joke about rape and pedophelia? Hollywood will back you up.
Wanna joke about someone's color? Hollywood will skewer you alive.
The cast of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” released a statement on Monday in support of embattled director James Gunn, and though his A-list pals criticized his tweets that joked about rape and pedophilia, they ultimately rallied around him.
Gunn's experience is in sharp contrast to the way the colleagues of Roseanne Barr behaved when she made her own offensive remarks on social media.
Media Research Center Vice President Dan Gainor told Fox News that it’s “frustrating” to see that the Guardians have gone from “protecting us from evil to rationalizing” it. Gainor pointed out that Barr is an outspoken conservative while Gunn is liberal.

What is a bigger issue is that Gunn and others have been targeted by right-wingers trying to find dirt to smear anyone on the left with. Gunn was a vocal critic of trump so the trolls dove in to find info. They've been going after several celebs, often times taking quotes completely out of context. Needless to say it has every star, publisher and agent cleaning their digital histories and maybe that's a good thing. But it's also creating a trigger-hair culture where people are fired first and the questions are asked later, if ever at all.
Interestingly John Lasseter (in charge of almost every Pixar hit) was accused of sexual misconduct and Disney kept him on well after accusations came to light. Either they believed his side of the story or felt he is couldn't be replaced and hoped it would blow over. However, it was recently announced Lasseter will be leaving at the end of the year (still hypocritical - he should go now).
