Just a few things:
Braintree does have a d1 commit on the girls side. With some others playing d2/3
Not sure why people are comparing a towns d1 commits to a whole club?
I’m assuming this thread was started by a Braintree parent whose kid plays for bolts? Or the parents sent the email to their club coach to post here. Also I’m hoping this parent was so upset about this they said something to this guy? If not talk about being weak.
Maybe this guy didn’t need to mention the bigger clubs in his email because most parents know about them?
If someone asked you about a good restaurant in your area do you say the chain restaurants that people know or say a smaller one that people may not know of?
So maybe Braintree hasn’t produced many d1 soccer players but how many other d1 athletes but there are a bunch of players that have played d2/3.
Maybe Braintree isn’t a soccer town and the good athletes play other sports full time.
I guess the biggest question is why are people on here so butt hurt about a volunteer giving his opinion?
Last let’s put an end to the d3 commitment thing. D3players can be recruited but it’s a little different because they can’t offer a scholarship to play a sport. There’s nothing binding a player or coach to each other. Also d3 players can’t commit to a college until they get excepted to the school and put a down payment toward the school.

What does CFC offer in terms of college exposure for their players?
I don’t think he said bolts or other clubs are bad did he?
I don’t think he said clubs don’t have the best interest in their players did he?
How much does it cost to play for the bolts and in your tuition does it include college showcases or help with college recruiting?
You are comparing a club that has just a quick look maybe two boys two girls teams that are high school age. Compared to how many teams do the bolts have?
Again please show me where in the email he is saying big clubs are bad? Basically he is saying if you want to travel, spend money and make the commitment go for it. Just make sure it’s the right fit for your child.
I guess this thread would probably have never been posted if he mentioned all the clubs around the south shore or kissed the big clubs butts right?

If your child is the best player, by far, then maybe. The best player graduating this year isn’t a D1 candidate. We may have 1 or 2 players in the program that even have the potential, but likely won’t

So basically they are in agreement. I don't think Bolts dad is arguing that his son is a B team town player in whatever town they live in but Bolts is magically making his kid a super star recruit.

The guy who wrote the email seemed to have good intentions, but he's wrong. He's 100% wrong.
The bigger issue at hand is to ask yourself this. In a town that has one of the largest youth soccer programs in New England - why can't they seem to generate more talent?
Dedham, Westwood, Hingham, Norwell, Hanover, Whitman, Weymouth....all multiple D1 level girls soccer players in their programs. But Braintree can only produce "maybe 1 or 2 but probably not" from both boys and girls side according to this guy???

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostHey Mr. Smith, here are the Bolts college commitments so far for the 2021 class. Your kids are more than welcome to try out for one of the Bolts teams, they’re REALLY close. Any Commonwealth FC commitments?
Andrew Kovacs (D), Bolts, WPI
Michael Balleani (F), Bolts, Brown
Camron Lawrence (M/F), Bolts, Bryant
Ludovico Rollo (D), Bolts, Harvard
Will Bavsier (M), Bolts, Colorado College
Mike Ciano (D), Bolts, Springfield College
Henning Dierks (F), Bolts, Brandeis
Christian Godinho (B/M), Bolts, Bryant
Lyndon Hu (M), Bolts, Chicago
Seth Massotti (M/F), Bolts, Waynesburg
Brendan McCarthy (GK), Bolts, Colby
Colby Meyer (F), Bolts, Stonehill
Everett Upton (M/F), Bolts, Assumption
Ben Verner (F), Bolts, Tufts
Owen Denby (M), Bolts, Tufts
John Jalbert (M), Bolts, WPI
Also look at CFC BOYS U10 u13 and u15or CFC girls u14 beating up constantly on teams like bolts despite paying a third of tuition. Reality Bolts get thousands of players so they cannot help but get one good team at each age level but they also have 7 or 8 other teams getting smashed on a regular basis by Commonwealth so what MR Smith said is correct -

Braintree Median household income $96,522
Westwood $166,656
Hingham $163,966
Norwell $143,605
Hanover $130,341
Whitman $92,595
Weymouth $85,000
Now lets do % white-
Braintree 80%
Westwood 96%
Hingham 98%
Norwell 98%
Hanover 98%
Whitman 97%
Weymouth 84%
So your comparison was overwhelmingly rich white suburbs to a small city which is poorer and more diverse.
The only one that's even close to compare with is Weymouth.
