Who would put so much time and effort into defending a coach so passionately without a reason to?

B. Close relationship to coach
C. Parent of one of the players
D. Parent of a recruit

This thread has truly taken a strange turn.

Seems like you are the butt hurt. I have zero attachment to any of it. Just would like MA schools, including BC, to become relevant in soccer again. But having kids that played elsewhere, I get it about the weather, facilities, and such.

Like other posters have noted, the program was in a free fall before the new coach took over. There is a reason the prior coach is no longer there Top players were spending a year or two and finding homes elsewhere for a better experience, mentally. New coach had to deal with a mess not of his making. It is hard to get a program back once it is in disarray.

Look at UConn as an example. Took years after prior coach who had great success blew it up.

There are too many other options to have to deal with bs.

I am in agreement with your post. It’s easy to place blame on the coach who has a bulls eye on his chest. Others think a coach who is a good recruiter will bring top players to BC. That is unrealistic playing in the ACC if those top recruits have other ACC choices. Any coach that comes into either the womens or men’s teams have one hand tied behind their back.

Columbia is hands down the worst soccer facility I've ever seen. It's a s h i t field in a crappy area with zero parking or anything worth going there for other than the field. And the players need to sit on a bus through NY traffic to get there, which could be anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes. For BC it's 5 minutes. BC may not be ideal, but it's waaaaayyy better than Columbia for crying out loud. Yale's field is fine. I guess they're thrown in to this b/c it's not at the main campus?

Yes, that is where their coach is from. They seem to do well against them.
